"We stopped here on our way up to a friends home in southeast Minnesota and stopped here for the night. Rooms were not that big but very clean and all the interior was like new. Perhaps from a recent remodel. Very quiet. Beautiful area. In fact, I had no idea, Iowa had anything like this. Anyway, price wasn't bad but the only problem with this motel is the lack of internet. And, that's not the fault of the motel, it's just an area totally lacking in service. I have Verizon cell and jetpack and got zero. Nothing. In fact, I had to drive about 4-5 miles up to the Minnesota state line to make a phone call. Maybe other carriers work here, but Verizon does not."
"This place is awesome close to trout streams, hunting land, and even got good areas to look for mushrooms. You don't have to worry about front desk they give you a key lock combo get there and open the door. The only thing I wish they had was a fish cleaning station to clean your catch. But otherwise great place to stay"
"My name is Heath Morgan and I have personally been making the trip to Dorchester and the Sportsman’s Motel for about 23 years now ,, I am an avid deer hunter and have become a bit of a trout fishing fan ! I have seen owners come and go , and have had great relationships with them all , my most recent trips were starting Memorial weekend, it was awesome to be back firstly ! But I was able to meet the new owner Chris Dana , he has just recently taken over the property this season and has already made improvements and has great plans for the Motel and the Beautiful house and cabin on the property, my son and I along with my brother Jon had such a great time in the area fishing and exploring that we went back the next weekend and stayed again !! Rooms are clean and beds are comfy ,there was a mix up on our room booking on his end and Chris was quick to accommodate us and gave us a considerable discount ! I’ll be booking my next trip soon , if you’re looking to get away and find some peace and nature, contact Chris Dana at the Sportsman’s Motel !!"
