Health Plan of San Joaquin

"Wish there were no stars. Nothing but issues. If you call the advice nurse, you wait on hold for forever and then are told the nurse will call you back and they NEVER CALL. We have experienced this multiple times. Phone also hangs up on you when you call the main number after waiting for 30-45 minutes (no estimated wait times either). The quality of doctor we've gotten with this insurance is abysmal. I cannot believe people put up with this company to care for them in ANY way."

"I had a dispute with MedicalRx insurance about my seizure medication . It is taking me over 2 weeks to get my epilepsy medication . The pharmacy wouldn’t fill it . I had to go to the hospital.it put me in a emotional wreck"

"One of the worst insurances I have dealt with. Lack of providers and the directory has outdated information and disconnected numbers for doctors. Most of the doctors on the plan have the lowest ratings and reviews. Specialists are hours away and not local. Many doctors will not accept the plan. I am receiving multiples bills because the plan is not paying the doctors in a timely manner and sending us to collections even with the doctor was referred and is contracted. I’ve had to change providers multiple time because they are either leaving their practices and are moving away. Quality of care is not guaranteed nor is it consistent. Grievances are just letters stating apologies with no resolution. This health plan is under serving its clients. They are not delivering what they state. Whoever oversees this health plan needs to investigate and evaluate their standards of care. I don’t recommend them at all!!! I hope they revamp this health plan entirely because clients are getting mediocre care."

"I've been trying to find a psychologist for my son to get a late autism diagnosis. I took him to the Dr expecting to get a referral but with this health plan it's not how it works. They to me to call beacon/ carelon. They kept giving me numbers for aba therapy. I felt so frustrated. Apparently I find out when I decided to try again they read dr. Notes wrong that he had be diagnosed. When I do try to call the psychologist no one ever calls back. I guess I need better insurance or to pay cash to get help for my son ."

"Appt 10AM still here at noon. The dr I was assigned to I am unsure of his name because he is not my regular dr was short and not personable. I needed a physicians report for my daughters daycare and they stated that they only had a physicians report for bringing the school but not Daycare. So I had to drive all the way to my daycare to get a copy of the same exact physicians report that they should have in their office and then proceeded to tell me that it will take five business days for them to get it back to me."
