Fairhaven Apartments

"I give this place a 2 1/2 to 3 star rating. I moved in a year ago and this place exceeded my expectations in a couple areas. The apartments are nice with updated appliances. The grounds are well kept and the maintenance lady is great. Most neighbors are nice but there are a few things that make us want to move out at times. 1. People in neghboring units constantly slam their doors and are banging things around causing the walls to shake unexpectedly. It is not a peaceful environment at times if that's what you want. 2. Once in awhile the kids/teenagers will run around the complex causing disturbances, knocking on doors and then running away, and tampering with door bell cameras. 3. The hallways outside of the units and elevators are always stained and dirty. They have never been pressure washed, or any other significant effort made to keep them clean since we moved here. 4. At times homeless people and street vendors come through causing a disturbance. 5. They charge for everything including trash, water and other utilities on top of the rent. 6. The carports are dusty, dirty and have oil stains and are rarely cleaned. 7. Did I mention people slam their doors without any consideration for others ? Despite all that, this place still has some good qualities like location and Essex management are pleasant to deal with. They have the potential to be a 5 star complex if they worked on a few details."

"Kudos to the team members at Fairhaven! Thank you for helping me through the process of transitioning here in my new apartment home. This home was worth waiting to find! Beautifully planned, well thought out living space and lots of natural lighting...one of my favorites. The landscape is serene and the pool area is always being maintained. Kudos to the maintenance team as well!"

"I have lived with my family in this apartment complex for 1.5 years and honestly it is hard for me to list the good things. When we moved in, I loved the gym, the pool space, and the "cleanliness of the common areas". So we decided to start our house here, regardless of paying $2,400 for a one-bedroom apartment. But over time EVERYTHING CHANGED. In the gym, one or more machines always break down. The common areas, especially the stairs and the elevator, are dirty full of garbage such as soda glasses and empty packets of chips that take many days to be collected. Also, the elevator always smells bad and you can see urine on the floor. The pool walls are always very dirty and the jacuzzi is frequently damaged. I live on a second floor. My third floor neighbors are very noisy, especially at night. The doors slam and the windows in my room shake as if they were going to break and sometimes I can only fall asleep at dawn. So we wrote to the office to help us with this situation and their response was to speak to security and oh wow, we haven't seen him for a while. The maintenance of the apartments is very slow and bad. A few months ago it was literally raining in my kitchen and living room, dirty water from a third floor leak. After calling maintenance many times they came (I was very angry because they didn't want to do it right away) and took letters about the problem but they lifted the folder in my living room and today almost 5 months later maintenance hasn't washed or fixed my folder. I live on a second floor. My third floor neighbors are very noisy, especially at night. The doors slam and the windows in my room shake as if they were going to break and sometimes I can only fall asleep at dawn. So we wrote to the office to help us with this situation and their response was to speak to security and oh wow, we haven't seen him for a while. But not being enough. The security in the apartment complex is horrible. My truck has been stolen twice, my new car has been scratched, and this week my warehouse was broken into and my husband's work tools were stolen. I really don't know what else can happen, we would like to move to another place, but unfortunately breaking the contract is very very expensive. For now we hope that things will change and improve. But, if they ask me: do you recommend living here? From my experience I will say a resounding NO!"
