Motel Mediteran Escondido

"Nice little family owned motel, very affordable, clean, and welcoming. I stay here whenever I’m in San Diego/Escondido. It’s a bit of a drive to central SD or the beaches, but it’s worth it for a room you can afford and know it’s clean and safe. I bring my 9yr old with me all the time here. It’s safe for him to hang out and swim in the small but clean pool, or relax by the gazebo fountain. They used to offer breakfast, but haven’t since Covid. But there’s a decent bar and grill next door that has good burgers and breakfast, and a gas station and liquor store within a block distance."

"For a motel, it was pretty decent. Couldn't hear much from the rooms on either side. Done noise from the parking lot. (People getting in and out of cars, etc) Check in was quick, parking was good and fairly close to the room. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, heat was relatively quiet. Room was spacious. We asked for extra pillows and the front desk guy brought us a couple within a few minutes. Shower was hot and strong. Plenty of towels. Decent Internet."

"What a nice surprise! This is a solid example of how a local motel can be. The woman at reception was very nice, got me checked in and got me to a room quickly. The room was small, but well equipped. Clean and comfortable. I'd be happy to stop here again, if traveling here. Updated: A second stay had some friction at check in, but the manager (same nice lady as first visit) quickly sorted it out in the morning and demonstrated how much she really cares about the location. I'd love to stay here again."

"Honestly, we chose this motel because it was five minutes from the home of the relative we were visiting. It's no-frills, but we didn't mind as its very affordable. The room had a king bed, and was clean and comfortable. A few of the accent lights seemed to have wiring problems and flickered on and off at times. The bathroom and shower were very clean, but the bathroom door was hung slightly crooked and dragged on the floor. We let the staff know this. Also, I'd suggest bringing your own toiletries like shampoo, their containers are super-tiny. There is a nice hair dryer. The LED light around the mirror is good for applying makeup. Our room had two small refrigerators and a microwave so we could keep some snacks in the room. There is no table and chairs in the room like some hotels, but there is a countertop that can be used as a desktop and a metal chair that is pretty low. It wouldn't be great if you had to do a lot of work on a laptop. The staff was very nice and helpful. There were a lot of guests, but no one was raucous. The main noise we heard was the beeping of automatic car door locks outside our window . The pool looked nice but we did not use it. We would definitely return."
