"1 star is the lowest this site will allow.....Worst “highlights” and haircut I’ve ever had! Mel did nothing I asked. I told her I only wanted her to even up the current layers and leave the length I have. She cut 4”-5” off the sides and cut the top so short it looks like a mushroom! I wanted just a few caramel color highlights on top and she plastered them in thick chunks all over and they were blonde! I have dark brown hair and needed root touch up, she made the decision to change my hair color and it was nearly black! After she finish she’d styling it, she asked how I liked it and, at the time, I said I did. Note: The lighting in her salon wasn’t very bright and I didn’t have my glasses on. ( which she later mocked me as though I made it up as an excuse)! Got home, my husband gasped and I looked in the mirror. I was shocked to see the blonde mixed with black, and the severe short layers! This is not an exaggeration, I nearly cried. In a panic I quickly tried to cover the blonde, which took almost a full bottle of OTC hair color. I didn’t call her that day because she told 3 others (visitors not clients) in the bldg that she had to be somewhere at 2:00 pm. I left her bldg about 1:40. Not once in the 40 minute highlighting process did she check on my hair. I’ve never been to a salon where they don’t check at least a few times in case of over processing. She didn’t listen to what I wanted/asked for and spent at least 85% of the time complaining about her landlord. After speaking to her on the phone the next business day, she reluctantly agreed to send me a refund, which she did a few days later, but only a small amount. In out 2nd conversation, she said fine, I’ll send you the rest just to be done with you. It’s now a month later and she still hasn’t sent me a refund! I believe Mel is stuck in the 80’s with her skills and needs to pay more attention to her clients rather than her own personal isssues, I feel those should be left at the door when you run a professional business."

One can typically get an appointment within a few days with Mel. Harmony Hair carries quality, brand name styling products which go on sale several times a year."

"1st off; stopped by 3 times in the same week during the scheduled times on the door. And not a soul was there. After botching the hair style and dye, My girlfriend cried to me about how much she hated it less than a day later. After she contacted the owner, Who did her hair, she then informed us, no refunds because "that is not her policy." The owner was rude and stated that my girlfriend should have traveled 6 hours back to our home to visit her regular stylist if she was uneasy about coming in to get a new hair style. The owner stated that she should have came back in to have it fixed or attempted. My girlfriend did not want to redo her hair since it had been bleached then poorly dyed, she did not want to risk damaging her hair further. After we visited family back home 6 HOURS AWAY. My girlfriend went to her usual stylist who said the dye was poorly executed with zero attempt to match what my girlfriend had stated. And I quote "it looks like a 13 year old had dyed it.""
