La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Livermore

"For starters, there were bed bugs in the room I stayed in. When I called down to the front desk to address this, all they said was they would send someone up. No one showed up in the 30 minutes or so that it took me to get dressed and pack up. When I went down to the front desk to talk to someone, the man at the front desk did nothing to solve the problem. He just continued to say they’d need to have an exterminator come which did absolutely nothing to resolve the fact that I’d stayed a night with them already. On top of that, the room and hallways smelled entirely like cigarettes, despite the various signs claiming the hotel was 100% smoke free. Upon entering the room, the smell seemed like it grew stronger and there was an even weirder smell. The room was rundown as well. The fridge was broken, chipped and smelled. The dresser, desk table and night stand were all chipped and dirty. There were food stains on the walls and the comforter. The pipes are all exposed behind the ac unit and the sink. I wish I’d taken pictures of everything but I wasn’t even going to leave the review until I found the bed bugs. The two stars I’ve given for service is merely because the woman at the front desk when I checked in was kind as was the cleaning lady. However, I will be asking for a refund for my nights stay. **Update: In response to business reply..I did not refuse. I left because the room was infested and instead of standing in the same clothes I was laying in that bed in I needed to go shower in a clean room and wash my clothes.**"

"We got a standard king bed room on the 2nd floor. Hall and upstairs noise can be loud. We like that it's a dog friendly hotel but carpet starts past the entry. Hot breakfast included in the morning with a good spread. Lots of parking in the front and back and two large grassy areas for dogs. There is a traffic light to get out of the lot and a couple time it wouldn't trip to give us a green light."

"Very disappointing and this was primarily about the service or the lack of service. Construction internally on a Saturday greeted our arrival on a cold blustery day. Rather than going through the lobby to the elevator, we were instructed to go outside around the back to the rear entrance. With our bags, we complied. The room keys did not work, walked back around. The clerk was annoyed with our return. The room had a dirty red wet towel in the bathroom. The next morning we had to find room service down the hall since they overlooked our room. We asked politely if our rooms could be serviced as we left for a wedding. Returned later that night, no room service performed."

"I have never seen a motel room that was so filthy! The carpets were stained, there was trash under the bed, pop corn kernels on the floor, over-extended electrical cords dangling from nightstand to desk so that the only chair, a desk chair, could not be moved all the way in. There was a broken outlet cover, dings in the walls, a dusty, stained a/c unit, and most disgustingly, a moldy used coffee pod left in the coffee maker. The floor was so dirty I worried that my dogs might pick up something that would make them sick. I requested the room be cleaned twice (Friday evening and again Saturday morning) and explained my concerns but the most that happened was that someone emptied the waste baskets. Finally the desk clerk came in with gloves and removed the trash from under the bed while I moved the nightstands. There were noisy guests in the halls at 1:30 am Saturday night. If they offer you room 100, don't take it!"

"I feel obligated to give the hotel a star because the staff was friendly. HOWEVER I would not recommend staying here. First off, when you pull up at night it is completely dark. There is barely any lighting outside the building. Our room at first glance looked comfortable and clean... Until we noticed the cockroaches, the broken toilet seat, the broken toilet paper roll, the broken air system, no soap, shampoo, or anything in the bathroom, and the strong smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom. To say the least we didn't sleep well. Spend a little more and stay next door."
