Hokkaido Ramen Santouka Torrance 3525 West Carson Street, Torrance, CA 90503

"We drove to Disneyland from Vegas for a little getaway. When in California, we like to make a stop at Mitsuwa, a Japanese market. After our shopping, we were really hungry and had to eat a hearty meal before making the 300 mile drive back home. Mitsuwa had an awesome food court, and the first place we looked at was Hokkaido Ramen Santouka! The menu was a bit confusing at first but it started to make sense. We made our choices, a salt ramen with a rice bowl of mentaiko and soy egg.combo, and a soy ramen with salmon and ikura rice bowl, and soy egg. They give you a buzzer to let you know that your order is ready. You can also order small, medium, and large size combos, and ours were both small. The broth for both the ramen were fantastic! It seemed like the kind I ate in Japan! The rice bowls were excellent as well, and the rice was perfectly cooked! I haven't had rice this good in some time. The only thing that was not that great was the soy eggs. The eggs seemed over cooked, a bit too firm, and the sauce tasted like plain soy sauce, but I'm sure there was other seasoning. I guess I was expecting the half cooked soy eggs with the runny yolk. Overall, the meal was awesome, and as I wrote this back home in Vegas, the meal field my whole 5 hour drive!"

"I came during the early dinner time (around 5 pm) on a Tuesday, so the line was really short, about 2 people ahead of me. I came on a Saturday before, and the line was super long, maybe about a dozen people. I always ordered the same thing when I visit Santouka: #83 aka D combo - medium miso ramen & char siu bowl. The broth is creamy and delicious, not too salty, not too watered down. This is as good as any fast food ramen you can get. The marinated egg and noodles had good consistency. The roasted pork in the ramen can be a hit or a miss, sometimes it's nice and soft, sometimes it's chewy and a little tough. The char siu rice bowl has a good marinate, although the topping can be a bit fatty. Service was quick. I waited maybe for about 10 minutes before my beeper notified me to pick up the food. FYI, the beeper doesn't work if you wait outside at the outdoor patio. The cashier warned me about it."

"Very good broth. They don't continue to boil it after it's made, so the soup is hot, but not burn your mouth hot. Pork meat is very tender. They also offered 3 different bowl sizes which made my wife happy."

"The flavor always seems to be very consistent. I believe all of their broth is tonkotsu base which is pork bone. The taste is amazing and definitely our go to for ramen."
