"Asian kid with glasses at the deli was making sushi rolls for about 10 min while I was waiting for someone to attend me I finally decided to just ask if there is a designated person that works the deli section and I walked over to him and said hey about 10 times to him until someone else from the deli came and told me someone will be with me. I look at the Asian kid and I said “ thanks for ignoring me “ he looked at me dead in my eyes smiled and gave a thumbs up."

"Some Of The Employees (not all) @ This Location Is Just Flat Out Hateful & Wick In My Opinion & Experience Shopping @ This Store, Including One Security Guard In Particular Who Told Customer Waiting @The Deli To Order Food Items To Hurry Up, How Can They When The Two Young Ladies Was Working The Best They Could ,He Should Not Be Brow Beating The Customer Especially Since Those Customer Weren't Doing Anything Wrong, He's Always Bullying Senior Citizens, And I Bet These Employees Don't Report Their Rotten Behavior Against Innocent Customers Who Are Provoked Into Cursing At The These Rats"

"Not even 8pm and I'm trying to get something for dinner after work. The deli counter had full lights on and everything is still out on display. Waited for like 20 minutes for a worker to tell me that it's closed. Absolutely no indication anywhere that it's closed or the operating hours. Nothing on the employee for doing their job closing up the counter but could the company actually do better to not have the customer experience be so frustrating. Safeway is honestly one of my least favorite places to shop but sometimes it's the only option. For the exorbitant prices they charge for everything they should be able to do better..."

"This place was always annoying to shop at - there are never enough cashiers or open lanes - but I wanted the points for a discount on gas so I kept coming here anyway. Now it feels like they raise their prices every week and any time there's a deal on something it's always sold out which is frustrating. They permanently closed one of the entrances, which is annoying considering the parking lot is large but you can only enter on one side now. None of those things were dealbreakers. After today though, I'm done coming here. They've put ALL of their hard liquor, except for a couple of cheap bottles of vodka, behind locked doors. It's hard enough to find an employee anywhere, but now you have to push a button and wait for someone to come over. I did that and no one ever came and after waiting 5 minutes I just grabbed one of the 2 cheap bottles that wasn't locked up and got in line. Where I waited for 15 minutes while being the second person in line the entire time. The store wasn't busy, but again, there were only two checkouts open other than self-checkout, which you can't use if you're buying alcohol. The line I was in wasn't moving and then when I got to the front, the cashier told me he was off and another person had to come over and sign in, and the whole time they were telling other people that the lane was closed and were telling people with alcohol to go to self checkout(?) because there was only one other lane open. All in all I spent about 5 minutes grabbing the 3 items I came to get and then 20 minutes waiting, both for a person to come unlock the alcohol (who never came) and then in a checkout line as the 2nd person in line. I wasn't able to get the products I actually came for because they were locked up and there was no one to help me. If they're fine making grocery shopping a hostile and time-wasting experience for their paying customers, I'm fine shopping elsewhere."

"Friendly clean shopping in West Alameda. This Safeway has been our principal groceries place since we moved here in 2018. Noticeable: cashiers are generally very friendly and helpful."
