"Update: it has been a month since I posted this negative review, and nothing has changed. The response from the company here implied that the issues would be addressed, but they were obviously lying. Of the things I mentioned previously the most irritating is the fact that they often run out of common items like milk. Before visiting any Safeway store I always check availability using their App; this is especially important for sale items. Shopping at this Safeway is incredibly frustrating. They are constantly advertising "low" prices, but at the same time they are raising prices on many things. For example the cost of organic broccoli went up more than 14% just last week. They are constantly running out of the milk that would like I buy there -- at least half the time I go to this store they are out of their own brand of organic whole milk. Another issue is the fact that they often hide the items that they put on sale. For example the Zico brand of coconut water in the 500ml size was on sale for $2; the regular price was $3. When I went to the store I could not find this item anywhere -- it was not on the shelf with all of the other coconut water. When I asked an employee where I might find it they had no idea where it was. I found it on a later visit literally on the other side of the store near the organic produce. The only reason I gave this store 2 stars instead of 1 is because they do have a decent smartphone app."

"Donovan is always so helpful. I use curbside pickup weekly. Just check for substitutions. There are almost always one or two things they are out of."

"I drive the bay area roads for a living and rely on good ol Safeway for pit stops multiple times a day. I must say it's about time they get called out for their restrooms. More often than not, the restrooms are severely broken down. The toilet paper is usually on the floor and we have to use this disgusting toilet paper that everyone has touched with their filthy hands. We are still in a pandemic and even if we weren't I do not feel comfortable using toilet paper that is full of gross germs. Get it together Safeway and remodel your restrooms!"

"For such a small store, it has lots of the items/brands that I regularly buy. I go here more than any other grocery store in the area. Don't really notice a good savings like I used to feel I was getting at Safeway. That may have to do with the fact that I just spent over two months in Kentucky where I shopped at Walmart Super Store and the grocery items were substantially less such as $1 to $3, or more, less on items I was used to paying $3 to $5, or more, for here in the Bay. But then, gas was $1.94 a gallon. That price was really noticeable at the pump! ☺️ They do have the fixed kid seat instead of the fold up seat, which I hate at any store."
