Nikka Ramen

"Updated. In five years of cvd19, the restaurant still keeps consistent standards. The poke bowl isn't shrinkflated and the quality portions are just as good. Compare my old photos to the new ones. The food is authentic and has rare Japanese ingredients like natto, a fermented soybean, that is often forgotten in hipster/fusion trendy places. Since I don't eat pork, I ordered the vegetarian ramen with the added s&b noodles and it was not lacking flavor. It had a great fatness and umami from a traditional ramen without the oink. The best deal on the menu are the small poke bowls $6 each which have like 9oz of fresh tuna or salmon, avocado, and nori. Poke joints charge like $13 for these, and the bowl here actually tastes fresh."

"Very good Ramen, simple menu, great service -- first review Visited again in October 2023 Love Nikka Ramen, my favorite Ramen restaurant. I only get here once every few years, but love it. I had the TONKOTSU SPICY “AKA” RAMEN with thick noodles, pork shoulder. It was great, just enough spice to give me a little bit of a nasal run, which I like. The serving was generous and I added a "soft boiled egg" and also a "spicy deep fried egg." I did not like the "spicy egg" addition as it was not good. The texture was not to my liking and would not order that egg again. Other than that it was a great bowl."

"Amazing Ramen! Great service. Overall one of the best ramen spots in the Santa Barbara area. If you like ramen this is your spot, without a doubt. They offer your choice of a thin or thick noodle, which is a plus. My go to is the Kuro with thick noodles and pork belly. There is a large list of additional toppings as well if you wish to add more. I usually always add a soft boiled egg and bamboo shoots. I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always perfect. They offer a good variety of appetizers and sides as well. The service is always really good and everyone is friendly. If you’re in the area and in the mood for delicious ramen, you must come here."

"I really liked the food, the place is not in vain so popular, when we came in the evening on a weekday there was almost a full boarding. Ramen is very tasty, much better ramen on State street. The staff is polite. The food is delivered very quickly. All food, salad in Poke bowl were fresh. We were seated with our dog without any problems. I recommend this place. We will come here again"
