"I've always had wonderful experiences and customer service in the store location. My story is related to online orders. I recently ordered two cakes, a lemon vodka liquor cake (which was a hit!) And a chocolate Espresso Liquor cake. When we opened the chocolate cake tin, we were surprised to find that the entire tin was filled not with chocolate cake, but with the round paper Neiman Marcus sheets.... I'd guess around 1000? More? I emailed customer care, making it very clear we were not asking for a refund, the laugh was worth it (of course I had purchased it at a very discounted sale price). I received a reply that I'd be refunded and "as a gesture of goodwill" I could "keep the Neiman Marcus sheets" I received. Hopefully someone actually reads this and enjoys the laugh we had. I do wish I'd been able to try that chocolate cake!"

"I have been NM customer for years and went to SF and PA stores countless times. Because of the unprofessional customer service I have encountered today, it is the first time I have to say I will never come back again. I went to PA store third floor to return a pair of shoes. The African American salesman returned the wrong pair at the beginning and he said he couldn’t void it. I showed my understanding and said it was okay. He told me that he could do another way around and I didn’t quite get it. Then he asked me whether I speak Chinese. I said, it was not a language thing, but the logic I didn’t get it. I even followed him to switch to another cashier. Then he tried again with some approach I still did not fully get it. My card seems to be charged for a return. I just asked one question:”Can you explain what is going on now?” He said:”okay! Let me find another person to deal with you.” I was quite confused and surprised when he said this. Another salesman came and he was not patient either. I asked what’s going on and I want the previous salesman to come back to explain the status to me. He immediately said:”let me find my manager!” He also said the other salesman didn’t want to deal with me. I was so surprised to experience and hear such unprofessional treatment to a customer who has been a loyalty member at Neiman Marcus. In between, there were a lot of questions about my Chinese background and weird face expressions to judge my race. Sadly, I am leaving Neiman Marcus…"
