Liberty Cleaners

"In the not so distant past I had to almost specify if I needed any shirt to be dry cleaned, otherwise it was understood it was just standard laundry. Lately at Liberty Cleaners on Washington and Old Walnut Cir they seem to randomly pick shirts for dry cleaning from your load. Say if I handed in 12 shirts for laundry they would pick maybe 4 or 5 for "dry cleaning". That's because they can charge $5.50 instead of $3.00. They have done this to me at least 4 or so times earlier because I forget to bring this up when I go to turn in my shirts. Just dropped off the load and took the ticket. I went there this afternoon to turn in a few casual printed cotton shirts for laundry and she started picking the ones for dry cleaning. When I stopped her she tried to tell me that they would need to hand press the shirts. Then she said if I wasn't worried about quality they would do regular laundry. I just brought the shirts back. I find this practice unethical. Seems like they started this racket after the pandemic. I will never go to Liberty Cleaners anymore."
