"I had a terrible experience at Sugar Shack in Bastrop, TX, all thanks to the incredibly rude and unhygienic behavior of Esmeralda. Not only was she disrespectful, but she also didn't wash her hands, which is absolutely unacceptable in any food establishment. The place itself was nice, but I will never be going back because of her. My family and friends have been loyal customers for years, but after this experience, we will never set foot in that place again. Avoid this establishment at all costs if you value cleanliness and respect from the staff."

"This place is super cool but the vibe has changed over the past year. I don’t feel as welcome anymore and having them make anything makes me feel like a nuisance. Personality is lacking, didn’t feel welcome the last two times I’ve been. Probably would have been more willing to buy things if I felt more welcome, but all I wanted to do was leave. The soul is gone. I like some of the new ideas though, like the ice cream cookies and the new cakes. Edit// went a third time and the two young ladies working were very nice and sweet, felt welcome and the atmosphere was definitely better than the previous two times."

Especially this evening since we went right before closing and the young man working was just the kindest person providing the best service despite the late hour. The ice cream here is way better than other places I've been, and there's always a cool treasure or gift to be found."

"This quaint little shack is packed full of candy, sweets, confections, and delights sure to have something to please little kids and even the inner kid on the adults. Souvenirs and collectibles as well as plush animals make this a great place to birthday shop as well as just about every other occasion. The staff are always pleasant, efficient, and knowledgeable!"

"We just did our daughter’s joint birthday party here & I cannot recommend them enough! The hosts were very attentive, helpful, & super friendly. All we did was show up with food, goodie bags, & birthday cake, they took care of everything else! Set up, the clean up, drinks, utensils, decorations, the activity, hosting, everything! This was the easiest, non stressed party we’ve ever had. I highly recommend if you’re having a small party (it’s on the back patio, so not super big for a large party), it’s affordable, & fun for the kiddos. ADD THE CANDY RUN!!! Thanks “Sugar” for hosting, entertaining the kids, & just an overall great time! We’ll most definitely be back next year for one of the other kiddos birthdays!"
