"The service is top notch. They helped me pick out the best kayak that will work for me. I decided to get a Hullavator to transport my kayak and they ordered and installed it for me. "If you’re looking for reputable kayak brands, call Steve and Cherry, they’ll take care of you. I made an appointment to test three fishing kayaks. They trailered them to the lake, set them up, and let me test all three. I found the brand I wanted and they stopped at their warehouse to make sure I got the color I liked. Then we went back to the shop and they set up the pedal drive and showed me the accessories they have available. If you like Yak Attack, they got ya covered. Then, Steve helped me load my new boat and made sure I had their contact information in case I had questions. Please consider River Basin Canoe and Kayak if you’re in the market for a new canoe or yak. Steve and Cherry have a lot going on and not enough hours in the day. "Steve was our outfitter for the day on the Mississippi and he delivered the kayaks and great advice when he was both getting us to the river and meeting us at the drop point. He devised a trip down the Mississippi that met our skill level. We were itching to get on the widest part of the river and he got us there but he also recommended we 'stay right' where possible. We encountered no barge traffic but if we had, his advice on staying right would have helped us immeasurably. A slight drawback was that they are building a highway right smack in front of his business but his workaround for that was very good. All in all, a memorable day and he made it happen."

"My wife and I had been looking to buy a kayak in preparation for next spring. We had been to Black Friday sales and tried to find kayaks at big box stores but were frustrated with the choices (or rather lack therof) and no real knowledge base by their employees. Frustrated, we internet searched and found this place to be closest to us. Being 2 hours away, and after reading the "one star" reviews, I hesitated, but drove over for a look. It didn't look like a place of business that I was expecting. When we walked in, the first words out of my mouth was "I think we are out of our league ". I was uncomfortable looking at pricing, but Cherry, one of the owners, was extremely helpful, courteous, and PATIENT! After letting us sit in several kayaks, and explaining the many aspects of each, Steve came in. Between the two of them we learned a lot and were thankful we had not purchased a kayak yet. I asked Steve to convince me why I should by one of these and not a nice box store unit. Let's just say that we went back a few days later (yes, they made a special appointment for us) and wound up buying 2 kayaks, paddles and life jackets. Spent more money than planned, but am very happy with educated choices. Thanks to Steve and Cherry for information, education, and patience. We are looking forward to a more enlightened and safer kayaking experience than we would have had if we went the other route. Jim and Linda"
