Dr. Lizy Varughese

"Unethical and lack of care. Our first two appointments were disappointing. Dr. Lizy Varughese was disengaged and talked over me and my husband while explaining our grandson’s symptoms. She made a point to tell us she “only accepts so many patients” with our type is insurance. What’s disturbing is that today she refused care to both of my grandsons who we have legal custody of, 30 mins before the appointment time. We were literally in the parking lot haven driven in the rain after checking them out of school. Her staff said it wasn’t a big deal since it was a well visit (yikes) although I explained a child a chronic issue that Dr. Varughese diagnosed. I wouldn’t recommend her."

"Dr. Varughese is the most wonderful pediatrician we could have asked for! She is always quick and responsive to any concerns we have for our children. She is able to get us in for urgent appointments right away and handles refill requests and MyChart messages promptly. She shows compassion for her patients and their families in addition to providing the best care possible. We feel so lucky to have her!"

"Did not have good experience with Dr. Varughese on our first visit. I was hoping the second visit will be better. But, I was disappointed:( . She didn’t care about parents concerned. Ask multiple time to order lab test both during the visit and message but she keeps ignoring the request and never responds to messages. I would not recommend her ."

"The family pediatrician growing up is now my kids pediatrician. She now sees my 5 kiddos and we love her. I love that there is always last minute appts to see the kids. Office is very friendly. Dr. Varughese always had made me feel comfortable when doing full exams answering all questions and or concerns on all my kiddos. Ive referred all my friends and family to her."

"My experience has been so/so with Dr. Varughese. Maybe I caught her on a bad day yesterday but I felt that she was very impatient with me when it came to recommending ADHD medicines for my child. My child's visits with her always seem very rushed. When we first started going to Cooks Children my daughter had an awesome pediatrician but unfortunately she didn't specialize in ADHD so we were switched to Varughese. At the first visit for ADHD she recommended seeing a child psychologist but couldn't give me any recommendations or referrals on who to see. When paying for a doctor's visit, that doctor should be able to give you as much helpful information as possible, especially when they specialize in something. I pay once a month for a visit just for her to say how is she doing and ok I'll send a script. As I've been on this journey with dealing with an ADHD child the 1st thing everyone ask is have you discussed options with your pediatrician. And Dr. Varughese is extremely lacking in that area."
