"I recently had the misfortune of hiring College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Services for what can only be described as a moving catastrophe. I hope sharing this will prevent others from falling into the same trap. Issues: Inflated Estimate & Unprofessionalism: Despite an in-depth pre-move inspection, the final bill was double the original quote. The owner's excuse? We magically acquired more stuff. Funny how they missed items during the initial inventory. But, they may have missed those items because they were too busy asking to take liquor bottles from my liquor cabinet that I was planning to throw away. Unauthorized Packing & Disarray in Storage: The movers took it upon themselves to pack boxes, a service explicitly declined. Then, after moving my things into a storage unit, it resembled a chaotic disaster zone with some boxes crushed under the weight of others, boxes labeled "Fragile" placed under heavier boxes, and other boxes haphazardly organized into tilting stacks. When questioned, the owner blamed my failure to label the storage unit walls– a supposed customer duty I was not informed of in advance. Water Damage Catastrophe & Passing the Buck: The owner's negligence in disconnecting the washer resulted in a 12-hour flood, causing extensive damage and a hefty $4,000 bill to remediate the destruction. Their response? Blame shifting, denial, and then hiding behind a liability waiver. Unresolved Breakage & Lack of Accountability: The moving team carelessly broke an expensive glass inset on my dining table, initially leaving the shattered mess for me to dispose of. To date, no compensation has been received, and the owner's attitude reflects a blatant disregard for accountability. Update: Since I originally posted the review, the owner offered me $60 (for 100 pounds) as compensation; however, the amount he said he would pay was $72 (for 120 pounds). Additionally, the contract stated that compensation for broken items would be $0.60 per pound of the actual weight. The owner offered me compensation based on an estimate of how heavy the item felt to him which can be very inaccurate as what seems heavy to one person may not seem heavy to someone else. Demand for Padding and Wrapping Supplies: College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Services demanded that I provide extensive padding and wrapping materials, even though this requirement was not communicated clearly during the estimate or any pre-move discussions. Their sudden request for additional materials on the day of the move was unexpected, leading to unnecessary delays and improvisations on their part. Conclusion: College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Services proved to be a disastrous choice. The owner's response was not only dismissive but also accusatory, shifting blame onto me and my husband. The lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability is astounding. If you value your sanity, possessions, and home, steer clear of this company. Save yourself the trouble, stress, and potential financial loss by choosing a moving service with integrity and competence. My advice: Learn from my mistake and look elsewhere for a moving company that respects its customers and values professionalism. This experience deserves negative one stars. Update: Despite the owner's appearance to want to rectify the situation, other than the erroneous compensation, he has failed to rectify anything. Instead he blamed me and made defamatory remarks about my husband, leaving me to spend hours re-organizing the storage unit as the state in which it was left posed a safety risk as items were falling down due to the way they were haphazardly placed. It's easy to resort to blaming the customer when a company makes a mistake; however, it's the company's responsibility to provide the service the customer paid for and to do whatever it takes to make it right when they fall short. Regardless of how the company views the situation, your customer's opinions have value and they should be respected and treated as such. You should never resort to blaming and making personal attacks."

"Great company. I highly recommend Mr. Tayong and the team. He had issues with his truck the morning of and he did not hesitate to find a new truck and new drivers and still get the job done. Very professional and communicative throughout the process. If you are in the Austin or Dallas area I recommend using them. The prices are so much better than other companies especially for within the state move."
