"I've been a patient for a while. Made an appointment and had been calling to see if there were any cancellations for an earlier appointment. They told me i didn't have an appointment. Of course I got upset after two weeks of waiting and calling. Doctor decided to drop me as a patient. How nice. They can treat you however they want and the moment you complain you are out! It is ok. I will find a doctor that cares anyway."

"My experience here was horrid. When the VA sent me here for pain management the doctor was very dismissive of my medical conditions. I reported pain to my left thigh and leg, he said "I wouldn't worry about it, that's what I tell my patients" also I had a procedure for my neck pain and he hurt my nerve/nerves in that area. That procedure happened in 2019 and I still experience pain to this day. His assistant was also rude and dismissive. The rest of the staff where very courteous and helpful."

"I am so thankful for this doctor! I came in with so much pain and he was the only doctor that was willing to help.( I had gone to four doctors who brushed me off and told me that I’m young and just need to stretch). I didn’t actually need further care here but he initiated the conversation about getting proper imaging and care that I required. This discussion about imaging had sparked a conversation with my friend who is a cancer survivor and actually pushed me to go to the ER for imaging since that’s what I needed. It turned out that I was a lot sicker and in more pain than expected and I was diagnosed with cancer. If it wasn’t for Dr. Villarreal taking my pain seriously I would have not reached a point to get the proper care treatment that I desperately needed. He is an amazing doctor, the staff is so wonderful and helpful. If you need to go somewhere to get actual help, this is the place to go. Don’t look any further, you’ve found the right care."

"I can’t say enough good things about the staff. Every single person I’ve come across has a smile on their face and are determined to make sure I get the best possible care. I will never forget how I called them a day before I was due to leave out of town because my medication wasn’t working and I was afraid I would have a bad vacation. They told me they would call me back and I was afraid they wouldn’t because of the time of day but man did they pull through for me!! They called me, immediately sent a new prescription to my pharmacy, got everything settled for me and even though the particular medication didn’t work well for me personally, I was in absolute awe of how generous and helpful the staff was that day. I don’t even know who I spoke to but thank you for your tireless efforts to keeping me feeling well! Dr Villareal is always optimistic and that is so refreshing for someone like me who is dragged down emotionally with daily chronic pain. If you are looking for a place who takes you seriously and dedicates their lives to being on the patients side, choose El Paso Pain and Spine center. I don’t like going to the doctors but I always look forward to seeing everyone here. These people are breathing angels."

"This Dr is horrible. I am not a patient of his but I have had to bring my sister here for her pain management and current condition. You are not a patient here you are a NUMBER. Dr. Misenheimer referred her and faxed orders to have Dr Villarreal administer injections for current condition and they don't have the orders and could not request the orders from his office so she will have to come again and wait another 2-3 hours. That is not the worst of it before we came to her scheduled appointment today I had driven my sister here two weeks prior with copy of orders (from a Dr.) in hand, she was told at Dr Villarreal's that she had to see the Nurse practitioner before the Dr. Because the Nurse Practitioner had to ok the injection/injections before the Doctor! So I ask myself what exactly is the Doctor for? Because apparently the Nurse Practitioner knows more than the Dr here with Dr Villarreal."
