"Pros-the restaurant is clean. The restroom was also clean. We ordered the chips and queso for $6. The fresh fried chips was nice. The queso was bland but warm. Cons from this particular dining experience- the soup special of the day was chicken and dumplings. It was a wet nasty day and dumplings sounded good so we both ordered a bowl. What a huge disappointment! There was a total of 2 very small dumplings in the broth and a few shreds of chicken. I basically paid $10 for a bowl of broth which was flavorful but not a creamy sauce that we here in the south know dumplings to be. I brought the lack of dumplings and chicken to the attention of the waitress who only replied ‘I’m sorry’. A manager never spoke to us about the experience. I had this restaurant on my list of restaurants to try and had high hopes. I was in the area at a nearby ballpark so stopped in on the way home (an hours drive away) I won’t be making to trip over there for destination dining after this experience."

"The food was amazing! We ordered the pork ribeye with mashed potatoes and the chicken pot pie. The best chicken pot pie we’ve ever tasted. The owner said it was his mom’s recipe. The service was outstanding and highly recommend!"

"Stopped in today for lunch due to rave reviews from Friends especially about the chicken pot pie. Truthfully.. the chicken pot pie was not good at all. My girlfriend took a taste.. told me something wasn't right with it.. then I took a taste. The filling tasted flourly and bland. I opened the pot pie up and it had one piece of carrot in it.. no other veggies. It did have an abundance of shredded chicken though.. we brought it to the waitresses attention and she took care of it for us.. We are assuming that maybe there is someone else making the pot pies during lunch on weekdays then at dinner time or on the weekends? We were the only couple there at 1:00 p.m. Other than that my chicken fried yard bird was great.. as well as the mac and cheese and the salads"

"Everything was excellent. We grabbed Sunday brunch and sat outside on a beautiful day. Serving size was large, server was helpful and quick and the food was tasty. We saw the future bacon walking around (a hog the size of a Beatle car) in the pasture near the restaurant. We bought some farm fresh eggs and a shopping bag on the way out ($7 each for a cartoon of eggs or cloth shopping bag)."
