About the Business

City of Fort Worth Zipper Building

The City of Fort Worth Zipper Building, located at 275 West 13th Street in Fort Worth, Texas, is a local government office that serves the community with a variety of services and programs. The Fort Worth City Cable Channel (Charter/Spectrum channel 190) will be offline for a few weeks starting March 11, but you can still watch City Council Meetings and other City meetings on the City’s YouTube Channel. The institution also offers resources and support for animal surrender, regulates facilities providing lodging for elderly or disabled individuals, and celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month with free live jazz concerts at Fort Worth Public Libraries. The police station in south Fort Worth is now operational, emphasizing the city's dedication to public safety and community engagement. Unified Dance provides inclusive recreation opportunities, while the institution also celebrates the achievements of trailblazing women in the Fort Worth Police Department. The City’s animal shelter seeks testimonials to become one of the nation’s top dog rescues and shelters, and the American Rescue Plan will provide funding for COVID-19 response and revenue replacement for governments. The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department will be closing Dream Park for repairs and improvements, and offers opportunities for Spanish language learning and community engagement through events like the family-friendly 5K and 1K fun run. "This is a controlled access building containing city offices including the Joint Office of Emergency Management. Referred to as the "zipper building" because in a former life it was the home of Levi Strauss. The mural across the rear or south side was painted in 1974 and visible from Lancaster, the main East-West route through the downtown area."
