About the Business

Hells Half Acre

against the Acre, calling for its eradication and the establishment of more respectable businesses. Slowly, the area began to clean up, with many of the gambling houses and brothels closing their doors.

Today, Hell’s Half Acre is a distant memory, but its impact on Fort Worth’s history is still felt. Visitors can stroll through Sundance Square and imagine the rowdy days of the Old West, where cowboys and outlaws roamed the streets. The area now boasts upscale restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues, a far cry from the lawlessness of its past. The legacy of Hell’s Half Acre serves as a reminder of Fort Worth’s evolution from a rough frontier town to a modern city with a rich history and vibrant culture."

"I’ve read and chased the traces of the Wild Bunch across the American west. From the Robber’s Roost to Hole-in-the-wall. I loved the sculpture of the Wild Bunch in Fort Worth and found it interesting to imagine the way it might have been back then."
