"Excellent Indian food. I tried many dishes and loved the goat, and chicken the most. Can’t go wrong with Chicken Marsala or Butter Chicken. Very rich flavors that are delicious and pair nicely with rice and garlic nan. You will love this place in St. Charles. They also accommodate large groups very well and have excellent customer service. Clean restaurant with quality food and service."

"I got butter chicken, my husband got goat vindaloo. We got cheese naan. And shared some egg noodles. We brought home about 3/4 of the noodles because we were stuffed, but man oh man they were amazing…everything was delicious! My husband enjoyed the goat but it was bone-in and he said it was a little hard to eat. I can’t express enough how delicious the butter chicken was. I got a spice level 2 and it was perfect for me…had a pleasant little kick. The only thing that we didn’t care for was that they don’t have free refills on their fountain sodas. We ended up just drinking water but 1 fountain Diet Coke(or whatever) would have been $2.99. And each refill would have been an additional $2.99. That seems kinda crazy to me. Other than the soda thing, we had a great meal and great experience. We will definitely be returning!"

"I went here by accident, I thought it was another place that my friend recommended, and I'm so glad I did! The food was outstanding, reasonably priced for the quality and portions we received. My girlfriend and I asked for the heat of our food to be 3 out of 5 and they hit the nail on the head with exactly the right heat, just add I pictured in my head a pleasant warmth without melting my face. My granddaughter was able to eat something off the kids menu and really enjoyed it, and even thou Indian cuisine isn't know for it, the French fries were excellent, with just the right amount of salt. I also really liked the atmosphere, the lights were especially interesting to me. The restroom was clean and stocked well. And even though they were super busy the staff were pleasant and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time given the place was packed. I can not speak highly enough of this place and I look forward to returning again and again."

My husband wanted to try Spice Mantra & I was unsure due to my Garlic allergy but they were OVERLY accommodating helping me select a dish that would be safest for me to eat & gave me the most delicious yogurt drink. "We were in the area getting groceries from India Bazaar and decided to give Spice Mantra a try. We were surprised that they didn't have any dosas given that the majority of the cuisine highly is South Indian. The person attending us said the menu happened to be two days old and they had just revamped it (maybe they had new chefs) we didn't quite follow what was her reasoning. We called for Gongura bone in Chicken along with Goat Fried Biryani, Rogan Josh, a basket of naans along with Filter Coffee and Irani Chai. Gongura Chicken - Flavorful gravy, succulent piece of meat, but way too many bones for the quantity of gravy served. Goat Fried Biryani - Hands down the best Goat Biryani we've had in St Louis for sure. Very vibrant, flavorsome, aromatic, and the perfect spicing you seek when you visit an authentic Indian food serving restaurant. Rogan Josh - Rich gravy, sharp taste, but again too many bones and very little meat. The Gongura Chicken certainly had more meat in comparison. Naan Basket - The perfect item to order when you have more than two people at a table. You could experiment different flavors in one go. The butter garlic naan definitely stood out. It was fresh, buttery, soft, and came right off the tandoor. Filter Coffee -Absolutely delicious. The taste that takes you home. Incredible taste. Needs nothing, it is spot on. Irani Chai - Could be hotter. Had a unique taste than the cutting chai you get in Bombay or the Kadak Chai you have on the streets of India. It definitely has more milk powder than milk in itself. Pretty good choice if you crave chai and don't see a tapri (stall serving tea specifically in India/Pakistan) Pros are the restaurant definitely lived up to it's hype of serving Indian cuisine. They have more dishes than your typical tikka and butter chicken dishes. The place is well lit, has a friendly staff and we are certainly revisiting it to try newer dishes. Cons are the wait time is quite a bit (understandable because it had a waiting line, it was a Friday evening, and we saw a bunch of bags go out for deliveries). The bone in dishes could be a lot better if there was more meat on the bone and not just bones. :) Bon appetit folks! Spice Mantra we'd be recommending you and coming back for sure! Thank you!"
