"I started my journey to get the Bariatric surgery back in March 2022. I initially consulted with two centers in my hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina, and found that they are more interested in the money then your wellbeing, at a cost of up to $26,000 for the surgery! I continued my search and found centers in Jordan, Turkey, Nevada, California, Delaware, and Texas; I ended up interviewing with nine different doctors! At the end, I chose My Bariatric Solutions in Decatur, Texas. During my Zoom meeting with Dr. Islam, she asked me lots of questions about myself and goals. It showed that she cared as she wanted to understand exactly what I'm going through and what’s best for me. She even recommended fixing the hiatal hernia before the gastric sleeve and said it would be included in the overall surgery cost. Dr. Islam was the first doctor from all the others who offered me this; all the other surgeons said it would be two separate procedures and separate costs. I sensed her care and her genuine want for my wellbeing and what is best for me. Dr. Islam gave me the best advice amongst all the other eight doctors that I interviewed with. That shows how dedicated and sincere doctor Islam is. After I signed up with her clinic, I met with her nutritionist Rebecca and Nurse Practitioner Beryl, I felt like I was in good hands. The degree of their professionalism, knowledge and beautiful attitude and sprit surpassed my expectations. The supporting staff were incredible as well, they were very supportive and very genuine; they answered my calls and messages immediately in preparation for my surgery. Finally on April 24th, 2023, I had my surgery with Dr. Islam it was the most wonderful experience I could have hoped to have with surgery! The morning after the surgery, I felt the whole world has changed! I woke up so happy and so energetic. I had no issues or problems, and when I called and emailed the center, I got immediate attention and was answered directly. Until today, the support I have received is impeccable - I could not have asked for any better. "While they did do a good job on my surgery, their follow up care is horrible. If you have questions a year or more out you are just out of luck. All they care about is getting your money! I’ve honestly done amazing after surgery and I’m 4 years out but don’t call asking questions because they don’t care. They just want your money. Dr Stowers is a much better surgeon and is now in Plano, go there instead."
