"AL’s is a great spot to get a bite to eat! The burgers and shake are a match made in heaven :) had the Swiss mushroom burger and the blue cheese one also! The fries are perfect to dip in the shake also ;) I will forsure be back to try it again in the summer"
"I came in with a group of friends. This was our first time in downtown Elgin, and we were excited to grab a coffee. We waited to be seated until a lady came up and very frustrated told us to sit anywhere. My friend wanted to leave as soon as she heard her tone. But I told her to ignore it, maybe she was having a bad night. We sat down, and the lady shoved us our menus. I obviously began to feel uncomfortable, but we sat and waited. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to enjoy a coffee since they never came to attend us. She only came over until she saw we got up to leave. Maybe this is a great place, but sadly we didn’t get to experience it."
"Enjoyed a lovely dinner with the girls. We started with wine and cocktails and ordered the Cajun meatballs and spinach artichoke dip starters. Both were delicious, but I especially enjoyed the goat cheese with the Cajun meatballs. For the entree I ordered the Danish bleu steak cooked medium rare. It was served with homemade mashed potatoes, veggies and red cabbage. I opted for soup before the meal and had cream of broccoli. It was an exceptional meal, especially for the price. Our server was attentive and went above and beyond, even offering to take a photo for us. We definitely look forward to returning soon. What a gem this spot is!"
"This please it’s so good and it it really gives an amazing vibe. Their food is so good and their desserts are even better. I would totally recommend coming in the summer so you can sit in their outdoor seating area. Other food is super good. I would totally recommend the salads and burgers, but the best thing ever is there ice cream my favorite flavor is the pineapple one and really taste amazing"
"The atmosphere and service was the perfect accompaniment to the outstanding food. The carrot bisque soup was silky smooth with the grilled bread warm and toasted. The schnitzel and spaetzle was the best I have ever had and my waitress tied the experience all together perfectly. Cannot say enough good about this little gem. My compliments to the chef as they achieved a mastery of the food they prepared ❤️"
