Save A Lot

"The new owners are awful! I used to shop here several times a week but never again. Prices went up, meat is always spoiled and rotting yet still for sale - expiration dates are not accurate, frozen foods are not frozen - pizza, ice cream etc, freezers broke and they didn't toss all the food as required. Be careful if you use your Snap benefits there. Numerous people are complaining that their benefits are being stolen after shopping at this location. The old employees weren't all fired like some comments suggest. The new owners had a meeting with them when they first bought this location and the long-term employees decided to quit when they were told about the unsafe food practices the new owners were implementing. I refuse to buy anything from them now unless it's a shelf item with the manufacturer's expiration date. I do not suggest anyone purchase food from the refrigerators or freezers there at all. They continually make excuses: someone is coming to fix the coolers or someone is coming to take the spoiled meat. If that is the truth then why is the spoiled meat and unfrozen foods still on the shelf for people to buy? They use those same excuses every day, yet the problem has never improved. - Use extreme caution when purchasing food. This is the only Savalot in this area that has been sold, so far, so the other locations should still be okay."

"This store use to be my go to for a quick trip, but since new owners took over it has gone down hill. Empty shelves, dirty, prices as high if not higher than bigger stores. A friend of mine got hours cut gradually til nothing, let go. Workers are owners, family and friends only. My last trip I couldn't get any assistance with a question, I was told, " sorry I can't help you I'm on the phone". The guy was on his cell phone, ipods, personal call about nothing. Then when I did go to the register to check out the same guy still on his phone not taking a break to even look at me. I said excuse me twice to get his attention, I again was told to " mam I'm on a call". So I walked away and I left. The parking lot used to be pretty full, not anymore and this is why. This particular store is doing the Save a Lot chain no favors and it's a shame, sad actually. This was my last visit to this store."

"This has been a family grocery store forever.. then new management happened and its not the same. A friend of mine worked there and they slowly cut his hours and fired him wrongfully afyer the was there for 2 years. I'd love to keep up my 5 star review for this store but the way new management is left me heartbroken as they fired all the people who had been there the longest. Sorry for exposing this information but also nor sorry as I have watched my hometown change for the worse and not the better, and my parents can say the same"
