"I just had the most horrible experience with the wait time at Cook Children for Dr. Sandra Peak. This was my second time here. The first time was for a well check up and this time was for a sick visit. We recently moved to the area and I really wanted to ensure we chose a great pediatrician since our previous practice was great. I get it. Patient appointments/examinations can go over but this was getting past the point of the level that even I could handle. I called this morning for a last minute sick appointment for my son. My appointment was at 9:40 am but my son didn't get seen by Dr. Peak until 10:20. We saw her for 5 minutes and we were done. Granted it was a minor - thank goodness. But still. The excuse they gave me? "Well, we just added another specialist to our practice and there is not enough examination rooms?" If you know you're going to be busy then space out the appointments more. I point blank asked Dr. Peak if she double books appointments. And she said no. Granted the front desk apologized and so did Dr. Peak. But that didn't make up for the time I lost just waiting there. I was professional and courteous to show up ahead of time to pay the co-pay and get signed in. Dr. Peak and her office staff really need to re-examine their office procedures to accommodate their patients."
