"I have lived at double R lofts for about a year and absolutely love it. I have a dog so the private yard is great, especially for having people over. The complex is super reserved and quiet, neighbors are super friendly and the apartments are quiet so we never hear each other through the walls. Management is very responsive and so is maintenance! You just text them and get an answer immediately which is incredibly unique with apartments. The apartments themselves are lofts so very cool and unique! They are located at an awesome spot downtown too, walking distance to everything which was really important to me and being able to walk two blocks to the baseball game is a major plus! Also extremely safe, I am a female that was living alone and never felt unsafe or uneasy. The building is extremely secure and there are cameras all over the complex. Overall I have absolutely loved living here and highly recommend the lofts to anyone in Amarillo!!"

"I've lived at Double R Lofts since they first opened for tenants about 2 1/2 years ago. I am the first, and so far only, tenant in my loft. The space itself is beautiful and I love the private courtyard. However, almost immediately upon moving in it was obvious the quality of the workmanship is very poor. The loft has two levels with the kitchen living area upstairs and the bedroom area downstairs. The substance used to fill the gaps in the wood flooring on the upper level breaks up and falls through the gaps between planks whenever anyone walks in the flooring in a normal manner. It is not uncommon to find chunks of this stuff littering my bed and the downstairs floor when I go to bed at night. If any liquid is spilled on the upstairs floor it MUST be immediately wiped up or it will drip through the floorboards into the lower living area. I cannot use my mixer or blender in the electrical outlets along the cabinets without tripping the breaker. Every stinking time. I have to move these appliances to the electrical outlet located at the end of the bar for them to work without tripping the breaker. The place in general has electrical gremlins. Most of the time my lights come on when I hit the switch, but occasionally they don't. The property manager was made aware of the electrical issues early on. I was told the place had been wired then rewired during the construction of the lofts. Nothing has been done since I've been here, however. Sound carries tremendously from unit to unit. I can hear my neighbors sneeze and cough. It is not unusual to hear their phone conversations. We have learned to tolerate each others televisions and radios. The roof leaks. Multiple attempts have been made to stop the leaks and there has been some improvement in my unit, however, I do still have leaks along the front wall and in the bathroom. It is not uncommon to find small chunks of masonry that have fallen out of the hundred year old front brick wall. The on demand water heater struggles and can only produce barely warm water in the winter. Winter showers are not exactly cold but they are most definitely not warm either. The original property manager was pretty quick to repair most things that broke or malfunctioned. A new property manager came on board approximately 3 months ago. This new person has been less than responsive. The faucet in the courtyard broke (it suddenly wouldn't turn off). It took over 24 hours for someone to come turn off the running water. They were able to turn off the water but the faucet has yet to be repaired and is not functional 3 months later. The general state of the property has declined significantly since the arrival of the new property manager. The lights in the south parking area no longer work. The lock on the pedestrian gate no longer works. A section of the wooden fence around the "secured" parking lot was blown down during the bomb cyclone 2 months (approximately) ago and is propped up with wooden boards. Trash is allowed to accumulate around the dumpster and is becoming a health hazard. There are other issues but I'll stop here. Overall, the aesthetics of Double R Lofts units are beautiful. Functionality wise they are a disaster."
