"Move in date September 2023 First night, what is that smell? Smells like skunk. The smell has never gone away. Smells worse in the bedroom. The garbage disposal was broken, I was not able close and lock the patio door. The shower was stuck on scorching hot water. The commode was constantly running. The filter for the AC/heater unit looked like it hadn’t been changed in a year. When we were hooking up our modem for the WiFi the cover plates just fell off the wall. I couldn’t believe they rented the apartment with out making sure everything was working. We put in a work order for all the problems and they did come fix everything in a timely manner. The commode still wasn’t really fixed that well. It still was contentiously running just not as bad. So my husband just fix it himself not it works fine. They never did get around to getting rid of the skunk/pot smell. So we keep the ceiling fan on high during the day to keep the air flow circulating and LOTS of air freshener devices going. To top it off my little dog got attacked by a pit bull that didn’t even live there. The owner was visiting and brought his killer dog with him. The first thing a Newport faculty said was “Newport Apartments are not responsible for what happened.” They didn’t even ask if my fur baby was ok until they made sure I understood I could not Sue the company. We also have been having issues with noise after what they call “quiet time hours” from the upstairs neighbors. I have complained 5 times now. All they told us was they have lived there for 8 years and they have never been complained on. They also made the excuse that this property is 40 years old so you will hear more noise. So I guess this apartment complex caters to long term tenants and who cares about the new ones. Unfortunately we signed a one year lease. So I guess we will just have to live with it. So if your looking for an apartment keep this in mind about Newport Apartments on 45th Ave. What you see on the outside is not what’s actually there. I am happy to say I just spoke with the apartment manager 11/14/23. They are going to let us out of our lease provided we give them a 30 day notice. I am very grateful to them for letting us do this. Thank you Newport apartments on 45th Ave. 12/06/23 counting the day till we move out. The noise from the neighbors upstairs is getting exhausting. I don’t know what they’re doing up there, but it sounds like trampling horses. This goes on every day the galloping sound starts early and goes on for an hour or more than they break for another hour and we have peace and then it starts back up and goes on for another hour or more, it repeats all day long. You can’t have any peace over here. The other day I had my noisy dryer going and I was listening to a movie on my laptop and I could still hear the stomping. It’s going on right now and it’s so irritating. I reported it and all they tell me is that quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM. And the noise starts before 7 AM but that doesn’t seem to matter. I hate this place with a purple passion 12/10/23 - 5 days and we can move from this pot infested apartment complex. We have complained since early on about the smell. Well they finally sent out a notice stating that they have received many complaints about the marijuana smell. They said they are sending a notice reminding all the tenants that they signed a contract stating know one is allowed to use illegal substances on the property, and consequences will happen if caught. Threats are not going to solve this problem, they need to do surprise inspections. Who knows maybe they are. I don’t see them following up on this matter. I would have to see it to believe it."

"Very nice staff and decently priced but omg the neighbors are LOUD and annoying. Literally 2 months into me moving here idk if its new attendants or what. One unit played music for like a week straight till 1-2am. I sleep with everything off and the walls are thin. I have to get up at 4am for work. Or loudly moving furniture down the steps like they’re just letting it fall. I can hear people laughing and yelling outside my apartment often. Other than that its not a bad place. The pigeons are also very annoying they are everywhere. They keep laying eggs on my patio"

"While I do enjoy the staff that works here. My frustrations would be that when I moved in no one mentioned that my apartment would be facing the street that you can LOUDLY here ALL the sirens and every car that speeds down the road while I still would have moved to the complex I would have just asked to see if I could wait for a different option. Also when I first moved in part of what we paid in rent went towards a GYM membership at ZACHS which I loved! But now we don’t have a gym membership and rent was raised personally I don’t think it’s fair if we still aren’t being accommodated in the same way were. I stay living here though because the community is still great. And the ladies in the leasing office are super sweey"

"Live here for 3 years or so. Was a positive experience over all. The only drawback was my upstairs neighbor who stomped around all the time and never cleaned his patio so bird droppings always rained down on me. The only reason for moving was needing more space at a cheaper price at an already renovated place. They are currently going through renovations but we needed the space now and didn’t want to wait."
