"Today had an appointment, and when we arrived, there they informed us that there were no doctors, and they never called and informed us. When Dr. Zahaluk was there everything was good. I live in Little Elm, on the US 380 side and drove nearly 35 minutes to see him and his replacement Dr. Jerry E James, he was ok but, I just found out that Dr. James was moved to Bedford and that they didnt have any of our information. Really? after more than 5 years going to the same area. They didnt even have the courtesy to reschedule us. Very unprofessional, dont waste your time going there."

"When Dr Zahaluk was there is was great. Dr. James E Jerry took over and started to get to technical. Now the Herrera Group took over and they treated me like I was from another planet. I had an appt for refills with my wife and they said that Dr James was not there and that they could not see me. Very unprofessional. Dont waste your time going there, we didnt receive a courtesy call that Dr. James was moved and that we had to do another appt or at least reschedule his patients. Bad, bad, bad."

"While I have been a patient of Dr. Zahaluk for many years because I feel he is a great doctor, I have had a string of bad experiences here lately. I have dealt with the rude office staff, the ever changing nursing staff, the long waits and the odd pay practices because I valued Dr Z so much. However, today was the last straw. Today I went in for a three month recheck of some blood work. I was hesitant to go because the blood work they sent to LabCorp for my physical 3 months prior cost $1691 out of pocket even though I have insurance and it should have been covered as preventative. I paid that bill. I have since learned that Main St Medical should have informed me that Lab Corp is out of network on my insurance and that I am supposed to have labs done a Quest. I was not informed of this. I also paid every copay each time I visited, including for things like recheck after a respiratory infection or a minor skin lesion removal. When I arrived the new person at the desk said I wouldn't be seen today unless I pay a $349 past due balance which I had never been billed for. I asked to see the bill and she couldn't give me one. She also couldn't tell me what the charges were for. Instead I was given a phone number for an offsite billing office and told to contact them. Though I could easily pay the bill, I will not ever pay a bill that I am not given a statement for. The nurse heard the discussion and came to the front. She told me then that Dr. Z was retiring, which was sad news to me. I'm not sure I believe it, since he is a fairly young man. I also believe that by law it is considered abandonment if a doctor doesn't let you know he is retiring. Today a new man came out and introduced himself as Dr. James and said that he would always tell me what tests he would be running and though he couldn't comment on the billing problem he wanted to reassure me. I asked again to see my bill and no one could produce it. I was again asked to pay half of the amount due so I could be seen today by Dr. James. I said no way and I will contact the billing office to resolve the charges with them. I am so upset. Not only do I have to find a new doctor, I likely will have to pay charges I do not know what they are. I really liked Dr. Z. It is sad that his practice has come to this."

"I've been going to Dr. Zahaluk for 10 years. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He believes is taking care of the whole person and is not quick to throw tons of medicine at you. He prescribes what is needed and gives suggestions on improving your whole body for optimal health! I've never had any problems with the office staff or nurses. Great place to go!"

"Unfortunately my experience here was not the same as those posted before me. The one hour promise means that you will be seen by a nurse within one hour or your visit is free, not the doctor. In addition, be prepared to pay up front, before you even sit down in the waiting room. Yes, you pay before you go back and if they have additional charges you pay that on your way out. I made a comment on how expensive they were, and the woman was very rude and defensive which was uncalled for. Other issues followed that were incredibly unnecessary and also expensive. The office manager Eric is insincere and rude to say the least, he will pretend he cares for about two minutes and then you become an inconvenience for him. After my two appointments with Dr.Z, my condition continued to worsen and I went to Lewisville Family and Urgent Care on Hebron Parkway to see Dr. Koppel. I checked in while I was at school, and when I got there I signed in and was called back in less than 10 minutes. He was so kind and caring, he made his recommendations and wrote prescriptions and I have been feeling better every day. I highly recommend Dr. Koppel, he is in the same area and he is worth your time and money, and most importantly he will get you feeling better."
