"Not what it used to be! This hospital HAD a wonderful reputation but now I'd rather take Baylor than this dump! Note that if you have surgery or an emergency, they'll only let max 2 people with you! I don't know if they changed their rules because of COVID, but if you have a family don't go to this hospital! If your family wants to visit a dying family member, your chances of saying your last goodbyes are very slim. Keep that in mind"
"it’s a gorgeous hospital, but the people that work in the hospital when you’re going into the hospital from the security officers all the way to the checkpoint to get in like it’s a prison you have to have your ID ready so this way they can give you a bracelet to get into the hospital. this is the first time I have been to Parkland and over 17 years I did not realize that they had a brand new building. Everything is up-to-date. It’s very nice on the inside, but as I said the employees that worked there from the security officers to the check in to the cafeteria to housekeeping these people have no sympathy for others. They don’t even look you in DI and say hello now as far as the nursing is concerned, that’s a different story. The nurses were very nice. It took almost 25 minutes to be able to get in just to be able to go and see my nephew who is in a horrible car accident by the time we got in there they had already finished doing major surgery on him. This is really sad how the system works at Parkland I remember back in the day you just walked into the hospital. Walked over to registration asked him , where was such such person they would ask for your ID and let you go in there were three people they were checking in people to go into the hospital to go and see I guess so they were so busy gossiping between themselves and they do not even have a system. People were cutting in front of other people to go in one man cut right in front of me and I said excuse me I was here first. He said no I wasn’t. I was on the side I said that doesn’t count, you should’ve been in back in line like the rest of us , so the girl that I said that’s not fair I was here first he came from the side of the of the building. What was he doing on that side? He cut in front of all the rest of us she said oh well I didn’t see him I said well I’m telling you I think you need to pay more attention to how the people are lined up here and I felt so bad for this lady she had been standing in line. She was trying to get to the urgent care quickly and because she was standing in line so long her mother passed away. She didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye and she was trying to get in there to go say goodbye to her before her mother passed away , there were two brothers that were there. The same thing happened to them. They had been in line along time waiting just to be able to get in and one of their family members passed away while they were waiting in line that’s ridiculous. Has come to this for human beings to be treated like animals and with no remorse whatsoever when the woman told the girl, my mother passed away and I was standing here in line waiting to be able to Gideon the girl that checked her and said that’s not my problem that’s really sad"
"Parkland doctors and nurses were beyond AMAZING!!! I took my cousin here and I cannot say enough great things about them from the second we walked in, to the emergency room, to the hospital stay over the course of his 5 day stay. I was not expecting much but learned the facility is fairly new and nicer than any hospital room I have seen. Extremely thorough, compassionate care, and they went above and beyond to make sure he had resources he needed going forward. Outstanding experience!"
"Been coming in for a month now. Emergency staff was great. They saved my fathers life after a stroke and heart attack. ICU staff was great as well. Rehab/ personal training floor/room was also a great experience. Only issue I had was with the receptionist lady on the left side of the elevators in the 16th floor. She was rude and used her “power” to make her point. Every one else has been great. Make sure you know the visitation rules. One person can stay overnight, two visitors during 8-8pm. If that overnight person stays past 8am they count towards that 2 people day time visitor. They clear the visitor list every morning so you have to ask the nurses to put you on the list early on daily. If you are not on the list, at the check in on as you enter the hospital they will have you step aside and have you call up to the room to be added on the list. Just make sure you ask for clarification how it works because every day I have came in I have seen people get upset because they were not explained the rules."
