McAllen Learning Center and Daycare

"Don’t really have a lot of good things to say about this daycare. i only had my son here for less than 2 months & found it unsettling for both myself & my son. The director Michelle is very hostile, inpatient & defensive when you ask any type of question. The most concerning incident was when my son fell after a diaper change. He had a red line mark across his face the next day. i thought this was weird so i mentioned it to a teacher & they agreed to let me review the camera footage of when he fell. When i mentioned to Michelle i was going to review cameras at pick-up she started questioning me & didn’t seem ok with it when I had already received approvals to watch the footage. When the owner got there to show me the footage i overheard her tell him i was giving her “attitude” when i was just confused as to her defensiveness. It wasn’t until they showed me the cameras (4 days later) that they told me he fell into a wooden bookshelf. on the camera you can see his teacher rush to pick him up without even checking on him. it isn’t until a few minutes later that she noticed he’s marked & picks him up by his forearm, almost dragging him to the front for an ice-pack, which an owner had no problem with saying “Well she had to move him.” His teacher always seemed too frantic/stressed to work with toddlers and that was another red flag for me. Another time my son had a bite mark that no one had informed me of. I messaged the office & teachers thru the app and no one was aware it had even happened. At drop-off, you could hear a baby who was a few months old crying desperately in the back while the only teacher in the building was doing her hair in the front office. When I first toured the daycare with an owner i was very eager to transfer my son due to the transparency they seemed to offer, especially with the BrightWheel app. However, updates were hardly ever posted unless i asked. Nonetheless, switching my son out of this daycare was the best decision i made & i wish i had done it sooner. The only good thing i can say about this daycare is their supervisor, Wendy. She was very sweet, helpful & open when i did get a chance to have her assist me."

"Quality care, trust worthy and nurturing! The owner, director and all of the teachers are so sweet, attentive and genuine when it comes to the care of my babies. The owner and director have been exceptionally attentive and understanding when I have had questions or concerns. I can see they value building relationships with the families that come under the care of this facility-this alone speaks volumes. I feel good knowing that my babies enjoy their time at daycare and I have not struggled when dropping off; I see they are comfortable and feel safe with their teachers."

"Just enrolled my 2 daughters (2 years 9mos & 9 month old). My 2 year old absolutely loves it. The facility is super clean and organized, the owner and director are really great and trustworthy. I definitely recommend it for your little ones. Being that this is their first time @ day care I was very nervous and they made it so easy and smooth for us. We are so blessed to have found this place!"
