"I had worked with a few horses in the past and for the most part I was self taught. I had read a few things here and there when things became difficult. Some times those things worked some times they didn't. When I came across a difficult horse where I worked my fiance found out about Don. What he taught me was a entirely different approach to working with horses. Don started by showing me how to obtain alpha status in a herd and how to use the behavior of the horse to achieve my goal. I would leave after a lesson and go strait to work with my difficult horse. This horse at work was disrespectful and refused to work the way I was asking him to. He has since pulled a 180. There are still many things for me to learn about with Don and I would gladly return any day of the week. Don was a great teacher. He was patient and always willing to explain more if something was unclear to me. When I ran into a rough patch or preformed my intended task poorly (there were a few times I was cringing on the inside because I knew I hadn't come close to the target) Don would just ask me if I felt what I had done wrong and then we would try again. I would recommend NextStepETC to any one."

"A great farm with great people! I spent the summer riding as a summer intern at Next Step ETC and truly learned so much!! Don is very patient and kind in his training and he has trained his horses to be so respectful and obedient.
