"i had high hopes because of good reviews, but my experience at onyx wasn’t the best. first, i paid extra to get my previous nail polish and tips taken off. not only did they not soak my nails in acetone, they just peeled off my existing nails with another nail tip. i wanted to go to a nail salon to take off my nails so that my nails wouldn’t be as damaged, but i easily could’ve done what the nail tech did myself. the overall nail experience was rushed and rough. my sister and i got nextgen dipping powder. she complained multiple times about how her nails weren’t straight, but her nail tech simply told her he wasn’t finished yet. but he did not fix the crooked nail at all, and she left with the nails still crooked. now, not even a week later, my nail has broken. i paid a lot of money and it is a waste to have them break a week later. press-on nails have lasted longer. overall, i was disappointed with onyx."

"1/2 update. Unfortunately I had to change my rating because my finger polish has chipped already and I got the nails done on Friday and the polish started coming off on Sunday. These places would do so much better if they would offer a 7-day guarantee on their work"

"We first walked in and were greeted with a smile. We called to make an appointment before hand so they knew we were on the way. Sat down and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. I needed a new set of Nexgen nails as well as a pedicure. My husband did a pedicure. They did amazing massaging our legs and the guy doing my nails did everything I asked him to do. This was our first time and will definitely not be our last. We drove over an hour to get here and enjoyed the entire experience!"

"I just moved to Texas in September and I’ve been searching for my new regular nail place and I’ve finally found it!! I called on a Sunday to see if they were busy and thankfully not, they got me in right away and the location is gorgeous! The interior is clean and beautiful with plenty of parking. Do not be intimidated by the woman at the front, she was very direct but that is fine because the prices and quality of service is SPOT ONNNN! I got a regular (“straight up”) pedicure with take off of the gel polish I had on and paid $35!!!! Y’all, amazing. The entire service was great start to finish and the end result looks so perfect, this will be my go to place from now on"

"I was looking for a new nail home in frisco when I decided to try onyx being that I used to go to the onyx on cedar springs which is amazing btw. I originally got my nails done last Tuesday in which I felt rushed because I got there at 6:45 and they closed at 7:30pm. They were turning off lights, TVs, and advised me to finish my drink being that I was the last one there. Just as a reminder it wasn’t 7:30 yet. However, I was initially satisfied with my nails. I noticed Friday that cracks started to appear in my nails. I was busy the weekend and therefore had no time to go back. So, I went back on today which is Monday 6 days from the date that my service was performed to ask to get another layer of dip added to last me until my next set being that I spent $120. Keep in mind that dip is supposed to last 2-3 weeks (this is not my first rodeo). Once I asked for another layer, the woman whom works the front desk approached me at the table I was sitting at, put my nails under the light and stated that there were no cracks in my nails. I advised I don’t know what you’re looking at but there’s cracks in every nail. She again stated that she didn’t see the cracks and that I could come back tomorrow for an extra layer. (It was on 2 customers in the salon). I expressed my frustrations that you can see the cracks in every nail then I get up to leave and she states are you ok and what was your color? I responded don’t worry. I will nevvvvvver return back to this salon, the customer service is horrible and obviously the work is too. I will attach a before picture and a picture of the cracks that she stated wasn’t there if it allows me to."
