"Maybe at one time Dr. Amaro's office was better, and maybe Dr. Amaro himself is a great physician. However, none of this was reflected in recent experiences as a new patient. This physician and his office expect new patients to weed themselves out by the number of hoops needed to be jumped just to actually schedule a new patient visit. First there is the initial screening questionnaire that the prospective new patient must complete, and is then reviewed at the physician's convenience. If, and only if Dr. Amaro deems you worthy, then you are sent 'the full patient packet' to fill out electronically. This full packet asks deeply personal questions about potentially emotionally sensitive topics - childhood trauma, abuse, etc. On this electronic form the required sections are supposedly denoted, but what it does not say is that they will not accept you as a patient unless you fill in every single question. My husband filled out the 'required' sections, but did not feel comfortable filling in super emotionally charged or personally intrusive sections. The form itself cannot be submitted unless the 'mandatory' sections are completed, so he thought he had given enough information. He went 2 weeks without hearing back from the office, so he called in to see where things stood. The receptionist told him that he could be seen, but he would need to fill out the entire application. He asked to speak to the office manager, because some of those questions were frankly too emotionally and personally invasive. When questioned about why the front office/receptionist needed that information to schedule an appointment the office manager told my husband that he would now no longer be welcome as a patient. Office staff, if you are reading this: what you are asking for new patient scheduling is not fair practice procedures. Sure, you are bound by HIPPA, but prospective new adult patients do not owe you written accounts of trauma. Period. If you are struggling to accommodate new patients and pass that off to the new patient to self-select, you are not doing right by the patient or your practice's reputation. If Dr. Amaro feels entitled to the point that a prospective patient must either provide written accounts of trauma or lie just to schedule a new patient visit, no thanks. My husband will be seen elsewhere."

"My family has been seeing Dr. Amaro for about 10 years. His bedside manner is wonderful and understanding and he’s open to alternative means of healing and health, and is amazing about digging and addressing root causes of symptoms of illness to truly heal the body. He listens to understand and help! I have no plans to change providers anytime soon! The staff is always warm and helpful and respond to inquiries very quickly, my calls are always returned promptly. Love them!"

"Dr. Amaro and his whole staff are just incredible! They go above and beyond to make sure they offer you every possible treatment available. It's so refreshing to have a doctor who will recommend alternative homeopathic solutions vs. a prescription drug with unwanted side effects. They are very understanding and kind and I feel like they always take the time to listen to my concerns."

"My husband received 10 laser treatments on his hands recently. These treatments helped him with more movement and less pain in both hands. The nurse was very efficient. He recommends this treatment for arthritis. Dr. Amaro is a great listener and doctor. We work well together as a team to control my diabetes. I have been seeing him since 2015 and highly recommend his services. I appreciate the courtesy & professionalism that Dr. Amaro shows during my visit today. He listens to my questions and we discuss my next steps. Thank you."
