"I just got off the phone with this agency. I called to inquire about discounts on vehicle insurance policies for home owners. I was met with a cold answer by one of the agents who thought it was a good idea to essentially call me a liar when I said I recently shopped for a homeowners policy and Progressive’s quote was significantly higher than Farmers to which she responded and I quote “I find that hard to believe” and that she used to be an agent with farmers or something to that effect. I paused and did not respond while she proceeded to repeat that again twice. This information can be verified of course. All one has to do is actually get a quote from both companies. And perhaps I had called Progressive at a time when they had not adjusted their prices? I do not know anything about any of that, but that doesn’t mean I am a liar. I get that she can choose not to believe me, that is totally fine and understandable, but she could’ve just ignored what I said. I was genuinely trying to explain why I chose to have two separate policies one for home and the other for cars, I was not interested in getting a home policy to begin with. I simply called because my auto policy was about to renew and wanted to see if there were discounts available before renewal goes into effect. She asked me if I even got the policy through their office, which I did not and I honestly do not remember where I got it, however I would think I can designate any office as my agent and process through them and become their customer. She was not interested in any of it, and in the end I thanked her for her time. All I wanted was to ask and check for discounts on my auto policy for homeowners which is common regardless of bundling or not. Customer service is an important factor when it comes to choosing who you do business with that I think should not be ignored, especially in a saturated market with several competing agents representing the same corporation."
