"This is our go to neighborhood BBQ place. Dine in or take out the food slaps every time. The ribs and brisket are our favorite along with the cream corn. Small indoor area but it’s charming and the outdoor area is spacious and nice."
"Amazing barbecue in Leon Valley! The brisket was moist and delicious. The sausage was wonderful. The sides were homemade and full of flavor. Homemade tortillas and barbecue sauce add too the entire experience. Not a lot of seating inside, but plenty of seating outside. Friendly service. We will definitely be back!"
"This place was very small so I got it to go. The service was extremely fast and they were friendly. The food was delicious. The brisket was very tender, the beans were beans, and the creamed corn was yummy. 1/2 a poound of brisket with 2 sides for $20 bucks is not a bad deal."
"We absolutely loved our experience at El Monte! It seems like most bbq places either do their meats really well or their sides. El Monte does it all! Our favorites were the ribs, the creamed corn, and their unique (not too sweet with a little spice) peach cobbler! But you can’t go wrong. Our kids loved playing in the patio area around back. We loved stuffing our faces. Definitely will be going back."
"Hands down my favorite BBQ place in San Antonio. There have been a lot of decent and good BBQ places in SA, but there's always fluctuation in the quality of bbq. Not here at El Monte. This place has been consistently fantastic. Great portions, delicious creamed corn, perfect and juicy sliced brisket every single time I've come here. And I'll continue coming here for the foreseeable future. Do not sleep on this place, it's so good!! No joke been here more than half a dozen times in the last 2 months. It's that good!"
