"I’ve been a customer of caliber in Boerne once before, for a car I had years ago, and I’ve always known them to be a good and reputable shop. This location is also handles luxury vehicles, and is the preferred shop of Audi Dominion. After I was rear- ended recently at a traffic light, I took my Audi to Caliber for repair, and was totally blown away at the estimated cost of repair caliber provided. $18,000!! I could not believe my eyes and ears. The estimated cost of repair was so high, insurance labeled my car as “totaled”, since the estimate was 2/3 or more of my car’s value. THANK GOD I decided to get my car out of there and get a second opinion. I took it to My Collision Center in Helotes where they estimated the damage AND REPAIRED the car for around $9,000…. HALF of what caliber was going to charge. (How is that even possible??) I’m extremely disappointed and upset that caliber would screw a customer over like that. So please, especially for luxury vehicle owners out there, beware of a huge mark up by caliber and get a second opinion!! My car is now totally repaired, was covered my insurance, and looks beautiful. Here I was devastated to think that I was going to have to give up my car that I love, and get into a new car payment at these interest rates. Truly I feel an injustice was done here. It makes sense to me that Audi and Caliber could be colluding here to get you out of your current car and into a new one… there is a huge market for used cars right now. In theory, it’s a win- win, both the dealership and the shop win if they can get you to sign your perfectly good car over to the shop, and buy a new one from the dealership… I truly hope that isn’t what they’re doing here.. but my experience could certainly lead one to believe that is happening."
