"I feel like everyone is quick to give 5 star reviews now a days… I was fooled by it unfortunately. Or maybe I just came on a bad day. I visited Old Bucs Barbecue and had a mixed experience. While the brisket and chicken were just okay, needing sauce to enhance the flavor, the saving grace was the flavorful pickles and sauce provided on the side. Unfortunately, my side of beans was forgotten, but based on the Mac & Cheese, I didn't feel it was worth returning for. The banana pudding, however, was a standout, earning a solid 4/5 rating. Despite the food, the customer service was exceptional, earning a thumbs up. Overall, my experience was a bit disappointing due to the food quality, but the service was awesome."

"I have only done take out here. Have not once been let down. Easily accessible and very friendly staff that always offer great deals to their customers. I will say very pleasantly that you will pay a little more than the surrounding competitors here for your food. Despite the price, I can assure you'll realize from the first bite to the moment you lick your fingers clean, every single cent spent will be well worth it!"

"We had a good meal here, the barbecue was delicious, the sausage was very flavorful, good potato salad, the brisket was moist, and the macaroni was cheesy. As a plus they have big red in glass bottles. It was served with sliced bread, onions, pickles, and jalapeños on the side, just like Texas barbecue is supposed to be served. It's a Texas thing, and it's a good thing . We will be back, and we definitely recommend this barbecue joint."

"Old Bucs BBQ is the best BBQ in the Manvel/West Pearland area. The restaurant itself is a very small shack with a drive-thru. I always go for the brisket, which is always mouthwatering and tender. They also have links, burnt ends (both beef or pork belly) which are amazing. The only gripe about this place is that it's only opened on the weekend. Hopefully they could be open everyday sometime in the future"

"We just tried this place out for the first time today and we now realize what all of the hype is about! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner. He was so welcoming and walked us through how to order and what he recommended we get to eat. We had the Brisket, Burnt ends, Turkey, and Macaroni and cheese. It came with bread, pickles, cheddar cheese, onions, sauce, and crackers on the side. Every bite we ate was amazing. My husband an di both said this was the best brisket we’ve had in a long time. And leave that sauce on the side alone - you don’t need it. They have a drive through if you just want to get it and go or the have tables inside and on the patio available. Be sure to get there early because when they sell out, they’re out."
