"We were really excited to try this place coming from the Louisiana border and moving down home cooking. We walked in and there was nobody to seat us for several minutes. The floors from the door to the table and back to the restroom were extremely sticky. This alone almost caused us to leave but we figured we’d try it anyway because of the reviews on here. We ordered our food at 12:50. We did not see our server for 42 minutes later, when our food came out. We were the only ones in the restaurant and we watched three other tables come in after us, two of which received their food before us. I had to ask for a refill when our food came, and it was forever getting the refill. When my food came out (I ordered a po’boy) the shrimp and sandwich was not warm. It also had something burnt in it (see picture). Not sure what it was, but it wasn’t shrimp. The Mac and cheese didn’t taste like Mac and cheese. My daughter had a burger and loved it. I had some red beans and rice which were amazing. So all was not in vain. The server we had was very sweet- she was just very quiet and very inattentive to us needing refills or checking on us. I hate to leave poor reviews, but I really have to be honest with this review."

"There are no words!!! Just kidding!! We were welcomed from the moment we entered the door and seated immediately. In Round Rock!! On a Friday night!!!!! What?!?!. The environment is beautiful, but relaxed. Great music in the background. The food: delicious. I had burboun pork chops, green beans and mashed potatoes with soon to be famous gravy. This is a hidden gem and will be a flash before it’s overcrowded with a long wait. The only thing I didn’t like was the hurricane. It was just sweet compared to my normal but sure others love it. There were even good options for my daughter, who is picky. Basic kid friendly fare. The waitress Stacy was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The owner came by to check on us. Stellar experience"

"Im from New Orleans and when i tell you this food taste like home, i mean it from the bottom of my heart! Excellent service and even better food! The taste was amazing definitely 10/10 recommend if you are in the area in the mood for (Louisiana) soul food! Oh and portions… just TRY to finish a plate how about that! Also make sure to check out the delicious desserts! You wont be disappointed!"

"Server was rude- she was giving McDonalds vibes like “what you want.” Maybe she was tired/it was a bad day for her. Overall, the food gets a four. The green beans are very spicy and the rice is very bland- definitely not Uncle Ben’s."

"Say, I thoroughly enjoyed this spot and glad Marion referred it. Everything was on point, so good I sampled different dishes of our party. The waitresses especially Callie who was there for her 1st day. and the manager John was attentive to our table as well as those of other patrons. Having Louisiana roots, I was impressed by the authentic tastes of each entree and side dish. Even the tea was great."
