"The Guenther House restaurant is located On the grounds of the Pioneer Flour Mill established 1859. King William area. It was confusing finding the entrance & where to park. We finally checked out this historical restaurant. A country fried casual atmosphere. American & Tex-Mex cuisine. Lunch was fresh & tasty. Toured the museum & gift shop. Nice patio. Spot on service and friendly staff. We went during the week so there was not a wait, I've heard there can be an hour wait on weekends. I will come back and check out their brunch."
"First time here and I was not disappointed! Everything was amazing. Not only is this a historical and super cool location, the brunch menu was exceptional. It was the service that made this next level!! Do yourself a favor and check it out; I’ll take advantage of the outdoor sitting next time, because there will definitely be a next time!!"
"Went on Saturday afternoon and were met by the most lovely hostess Natascha with great humor and kindness. We were informed it would be an hour and forty five minute wait as it was peak seating times but she went out of her way to make sure that we got the alerts for an available table after I told her my phone was missing calls and messages. We expressed preference for sitting inside and she ensured it happened. Once inside we were served by a very tall, very helpful and friendly blond man. Watching the whole team bustle around serving is a genuine pleasure - they have wonderful customer service. Had the chicken and waffles and pecan (flavor of the day) pancakes and the chicken was excellent. We were so impressed we came back Sunday morning. Natascha met us with amazing cheer and sat us promptly inside the tea room as our server. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and we never ran out of coffee (the house blend is amazing) or cream. The peach and blackberry preserves are worth having, but I would come back for the wonderful servers any day."
"Wish I could give this restaurant 5 stars, but the experience was so arduous, it's a 3 star experience. First there's a wait for a table of about an hour. When we were finally seated we learned why, the kitchen is absolutely overwhelmed. After we ordered it took 45 minutes to just get anything. Our main course arrived before the soup, which tasted like it came from a can with only 3 little pieces of broccoli. Then finally they brought out the bread, which is the reason for the hold up. Sweet waitress, and nice atmosphere, it's too bad the place is so poorly managed."
"I loved it here! Very beautiful and festive for Christmas!! The food was delicious! Service was great! I love old historical places and this wasn't a disappointment! If you haven't been to the Gift shop you need to drop in! Lots of cute TX things to buy!"
