"Terrible experience with management. Already above market rates and hit with 20-25% increases upon rent renewal. Pool facilities close in September (and are only open for 3 months if that). Management also discouraged me from talking about my rent with other residents (which is wild considering the rent resets). They are undergoing a sales process and have bragged about not making any concessions since 2021, despite high yoy resets."

"My son moved in 5months ago. So far so good! The floor had some paint stains we could not remove. The maintenance team is great! They took care of the washing machine immediately and ordered a part to repair it."

"Overall it’s not the worst place to live, but it’s people who live here that can be a true nightmare. Lots of tenants here are MBA students who are extremely rude and thoughtless. Not only did I often have to clean up gross bottles of beer and cigarettes thrown from above in my balcony in the morning after they had a party, but some of the tenants would also shout, swear, bang on my door, and run away, making insane noises in the hallway. I am an Asian woman and I am not sure who exactly did these or if they did so because they knew I was an Asian woman, but these kinds of aggression truly terrify me. Also, I have rarely seen mba people wearing masks, which again terrifies me, directly jeopardizing themselves and myself. When the covid numbers were staggeringly high, I literally held my breath in the elevator, knowing how some of the worst cases of covid at Northwestern began from mba students. I teach undergraduate students and some of the residents here either act just like them or even worse. When I reached out to the concierge for these issues, and especially the noise issue, one of the staff shut me down, mansplaining that everyone should have the freedom to have a conversation in the hallway. It seemed that because I spoke with a foreign accent the guy felt entitled to initiate a debate on what freedom was or where the limit could be to someone who actually writes about those values for her research. He also clearly didn’t understand how much I had already tolerated the intolerable before I finally reached out. I wouldn’t have called the concierge if people were just having a conversation. So I am left wondering if that same staff would ever consider shutting a white man down or give him a lecture on freedom. This is just one of many anecdotes. I could also talk about how one resident had the bathtub water running for hours on end, causing a massive flood into neighboring units. This soaked leather soles of my suede and satin manolo blahnik shoes, leaving them with water stains. After this. I never place any shoes on the floor. I lived here first in 2015 when the building was brand new, leaving in 2017. In those first two years, the experience wasn’t like this. The staff were also not like this. For example, Mac and Salko were extremely friendly. I returned in 2020 to find that they were about to leave never to return. During this time, I developed intense mba phobia as well as a profound sense of discouragement not to ask for help from the concierge. I am aware that my review can further boost the ego of mba students, but at least, with my review, those who are not mba stduents can be more aware about what the experience can be like and won’t consider living here."

"Living in E2 Apartments has been a great experience. the upkeep of the property, communication by the management office, front door staff are all excellent. Amenities available are plenty with the theater, basketball court, cardio and strength gym, large lap pool and hot tub (though closed right now). The prices are a bit steep but in line with the luxuries it provides. Not all layouts (especially for 2 bedrooms) are equal and getting the right layout/apartment is the key."
