About the Business

White Cliffs of Epes

The White Cliffs of Epes is a stunning tourist attraction located on the Tombigbee River in Epes, Alabama. These white cliffs are part of the Selma Chalk formations, similar to England's White Cliffs of Dover. The beauty of the cliffs can be seen in the provided pictures, including a historic photograph of the previous railroad bridge at Epes. Access to the cliffs is limited, but the construction of a park with walking trails would allow for better views of this natural wonder. A park on the white cliffs would be a great project for students of Auburn's Rural Studio and a major attraction for southwest Alabama. Explore the rich heritage and natural beauty of rural southwest Alabama, including historic homes, churches, and the stunning white cliffs of Epes. Please note that most homes included are private residences and should only be viewed from a distance.

"I did the under the bridge thing in the early morning ... Baja threw the muck and had the place to myself ... So I broke out the cocktails and then later took a nap and got back on the road this is perfect for me."

"We didn't actually go into Epes. We spotted a turn-off just before the bridge and parked by the road. Views were nice, but access is limited, and parking is also limited at this location. It appears to be where the local juveniles go to enjoy adult beverages by the trash scattered about."

"Parking is tough to spot, but you have to pull off right after the bridge and park almost under it. No other parking nearby. But great views!"
