Kalah, a former student of renowned dance instructors, passed on her passion for dance to Shannon, who began teaching at a young age. Together, they established Shannon's School of Dance in Albion, IL, before relocating to Town Center Mall in Evansville in 1976. The studio quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional dance instruction, attracting students from all over the community.
In 2002, former student Michelle Crosbie took over ownership of the studio and has continued to uphold its legacy of excellence. Michelle, known affectionately as "Miss Michelle", is not only a talented dancer and instructor but also a dedicated philanthropist and interior designer.
With over 50 years of operation, Shannon's School of Dance has become a pillar of the Evansville dance community. Thousands of alumni have passed through its doors, with new students enrolling each year to receive top-notch instruction and guidance. Kalah and Shannon remain passionate supporters of the school, ensuring that every student is inspired and empowered to reach their full potential.

"I am a proud 1976-1986 alumni of Shannon's School of Dance when it was at its original location on Diamond Ave. First is was upstairs ontop of Ginny's Hallmark Store & a Hook's Drug store( no longer there and there is no longer a upstairs. There was a Gyros Restaurant too. Loved Kahla Street ( Shannon's mom) and of course Shannon Street Jackson. Kalah Georgette also taught. They have THE best recitals for the students."
"Does not return messages or calls. If you go to their location during listed hours— as we have done twice— there is no one there. I’m beginning to wonder if they have gone out of business."
"They don't answer their phone, or return calls. I have found another place because you can't get anyone to communicate. If they can't communicate with a new client, think of how it is if you're already paying them. I even went in & they "promised" they would call me to get us on the schedule. Didn't happen."
