Highland Pointe Apartments

"Highland Apts. Elkhart, IN. VERY Rude staff, grounds are not kept up. Dead plants and bushes not removed, weeds 3ft tall before they pull them. They mow so fast them grass is still long ( at least as my place) lots of clumps of dead glass left behind. Plumb glass overgrown that covers the sidewalk. Dead trees on our street. The pool is so cold all summer you hardly can swim in it. IT’s pretty yes. I had to clean everything when I moved in. Cupboard kitchen, bathrooms, windows, window frames, molding, door frames. It looks clean until you start to clean it. Floors etc. convenient area for sure! Some policies not reinforced."

"The worst renting experience I have ever had. There are CHEAPER safer apartments in downtown Indianapolis. I had to hassle the office about the dumbest things (trash being picked up, laundry rooms being cleaned, literally asking if they can mop our common areas or leave a mat out) The cherry on top of my Christmas was our car wheels being stolen and then the apartments caught on fire. And after 8 months we were finally allowed to get our items back come to find out multiple items were stolen. If you are thinking about renting in Indianapolis do NOT rent from a fairelawn reality company. They do not care about their tenants and hire staff that LIE on maintenance reports NEVER fully properly fix any maintenance issues the first, second, or third time. And put their staff in a constant state of fear of losing their jobs. Update: The response below from them is not true they worked diligently to save their own behinds. They really let the leasing office have the brunt of everyone’s frustration which was really sad."

"My time here in 2021 was horrible. I'll list out the issues. 1 - The location is horrible. Very ghetto and overall, the apartment exterior was falling apart. 2- During my time here, I had multiple packages stolen from my front door. 3- Once I moved in there was a gnat infestation along with roaches and other critters time to time. 4 - Beware of the mandatory carpet cleaning fee that they will withhold from your security deposit. 5 - The smell of marijuana was a huge problem on an everyday basis. As is living in the same building with many drug dealers. 6 - Building is NOT secure. Side doors stayed stuck open, and mailboxes were always unlocked for anyone to take. 7- This complex is known for its fire problems. After I moved out, there was an apartment fire which happened in middle of the night. I'm sure someone died in this fire. 9 - The pool was VERY delayed when it opened. But I've never been so I'm not too sure of the condition. Lastly, during winter months, it was not plowed as early as it should've been. Causing cars to get stuck on multiple occasions. Overall, i only lived here because it was much cheaper than all surrounding apts. But I see the prices are about the same as my new luxury apartment. So, my advice, do not live here under any circumstance."

"Me and my husband have been living in highland point since Dec 2021 and was apart of the unfortunate apartment fire that happened on 4/17/23. The new property manager Chris is going ABOVE AND BEYOND ! Roxy is super sweet even though she is new she is trying her hardest to help out where she can and David(I believe the district manager) is awesome too! It’s stressful with insurance for us and Chris has been baring with us with our questions and concerns . I TRULY mean it! He has been communicating with us SO well and helping us move into another unit and is SO kind and patient and supportive of us . When we first moved to highland there was another manager who was not the best but since the new manager change things have been different! Chris being in charge has helped calmed me and my husband’s anxieties and is helping us through this entire process.This man needs a RAISE!!! I NEVER experienced a manager like him who is fighting for us reassuring us and going above and beyond within his means. Fairlawn needs to keep him because this man is amazing ! And we need supportive leaders like him. Especially in such tragedies. Thank you thank you THANK YOU Chris for ALL your hard work you do! And thank you David and Roxy for being so empathetic and compassionate too! They are the dream team that we needed to help us through this difficult time. They have so much on their plate and they are doing great. Thank you guys"

"We just had an apartment fire I been there since September and let’s say Chris you’d amazing manager he cares about us ! Bet service I ever received from apartments ! Also I believe his name is Dave the Regional manger thank u for all your doing during this fire and thank y’all for being here for us sucks we are out of A home but y’all helping us means a lot if no one else says it I will these apartments are amazing sad we lost our homes but I hope nothing but positive things for the highland point team members !! Also thank you to the new lady in the office I can’t remember your name but your amazing beautiful keep it up!!"
