"We have been attending Carmel Montessori for five years and have loved our experience from the start. My son started at age three and continues now with summer camp as a student and a leader. The preschool is absolutely beautiful and the work the children do is levels above daycare and mom's day out programs (they pin-poke maps or Europe, Asia, Africa etc starting at three years old!) Given that the Montessori classrooms are all age, children are getting exceptional socialization as well. They have to learn to work with the littles and learn by example from the older students. I love that Montessori teaches the students to be independent while working together as a group. We have had an excellent five years at CMS and are sad that this will be the last summer we can attend. I feel grateful that Carmel has this preschool option!"

"My son has grown so much - both academically and socially while at CMS. I highly recommend this school to parents who are looking for a school that is fun for kids and hands on. While looking at other Montessori schools in the area, CMS stood out because it was clear that the kids at CMS were happy and having fun. I appreciate that CMS has a comprehensive curriculum that spans more than math and reading. My son completed so many great art projects and maps during his time at CMS. His geography skills are great thanks to CMS; he has a favorite French painter thanks to CMS! Ms. Emily does a great job of working 1:1 with students- especially when it comes to reading. She also has a very balanced approach when working with the children- very kind but firm."

"As with the other review, the main teacher over reacts about everything while providing little to no feedback as things happen. So you go from "they have had great days" to "your kids are horrible" in a span of days. There is also a huge amount of instability with teachers. Our children dealt with 6 different teachers by April because they had such turnover. Her husband also is incredibly active in the kids interactions without being an actual teacher."
