Recover

"My only PT session there with Drake was a good one and I would have returned, however a few days later, I became ill with a stomach virus that had me up all night with severe symptoms. At 4:20am, I sent an email to Recover and immediately followed that with a voicemail letting them know that I was very ill and would not be able to make my 1pm appointment the next afternoon. I received a call back about 8:05am from them and I advised the same with detail of infectious symptoms and they asked if I wanted to reschedule. I advised that I was too sick right then, but would call back in a days or so to re-schedule. I was not advised on that call that there would be a cancellation fee and I didn't expect one in that circumstance since it was not that close to the appt time. I rescheduled the appointment a day or two later and then I saw that I was charged a 60.00 fee on my credit card. I called their office to discuss and was told that I needed to give a 24 hour notice and that was the charge for that. I explained again that I was really sick but I could I provide a doctor's note. I was told no, that it didn't really matter why. I asked the employee to speak with the therapist and they said they would and call me back. They did not call me back, so I canceled the next appointment then and found a new therapist elsewhere. I get it. People can be flaky and sometimes cancel last minute, but if I wasn't really sick, do you think I would be up at 4am to call them and report that? I also missed work the next day as I was too sick to go there and certainly wouldn't have wanted to make my co-workers sick. There should be some grace in the case of illnesses, especially if this is not a recurring thing. I did give them a 1/2 day notice and they could have likely filled that slot and probably did. I felt like the money was more important and I had rescheduled, but when I couldn't even get a phone call back, I felt that I would be better served elsewhere. It would have been a 1 rating, but the therapy that I received on that one session was good, so to be fair, I gave them a 2."
