The clinic was originally founded by Grady Segrest, M.D. in 1949 and has since grown to include physicians such as John Moss, M.D., Henry Gewin, M.D., Bill Atkinson, and Martin Lester, M.D. Dr. Segrest later became the chief of medical staff at Mobile Infirmary, and in 1968, Dr. Lester opened his practice at Diagnostic & Medical Clinic. The clinic relocated to the Mobile Infirmary campus in 1991, where Dr. Lester continues to play a significant role in the clinic's partnership with Mobile Infirmary.
