"Have to say I am not about the self ordering kiosks when dining in but other than that we love the nostalgic feel of this place"

"Backstory. Steak 'N Shake is closed by us. This is the closest one. We drive 30 minutes to come here and has become our date spot once a month. When we first started this tradition 7 years ago.. The place was a dump. The floors were always sticky, the tables always a mess our order was always messed up. Your shake never tasted like you thought it should CHOCOLATE DIDNT TASTE LIKE CHOCOLATE. Even the frisco sauce was weird it just didn't taste right. But heck it's the only close one so we thought eventually this place has got to turn around. && it did. It has! We have watched the transformation over the past 2 years. Saturday we were in and the food was the best it's ever been. The food looked like the picture on the menu, our shakes tasted like they should the strawberry tasted like strawberry and the cookies and cream was on point. The atmosphere was so friendly. We heard nothing but encouraging words from the managers. The food came out fast, emaculate, and tasted amazing. Props to the manager Saturday I COULD HAVE JUST HUGGED HER. (Weve witness her do many amazing things in resturant) THE COOK DESERVES A RAISE! The food was so good. I can't express enough how please we are with the turn around!"

"I went there to get my free complimentary milk shake through the Steak N Shake phone APP. and the Manager (Maggie) did not want to help me figure how to use the APP. to get my free shake. She just kept repeating herself like a broken record and said if I don't have the bar code on my phone then I can't get my free shake. How does a manager not know how the phone App. works for the very company that she is the manager of ? Maggie was completely un-helpful. And she just wanted to brush me off to rush me out of the drive through line. I did not get my free shake. What a waste of trip to this place, Devon (employee) would not help me either. But I bet these people know how to do all kinds of things when they are on their phones. They just somehow did not know how to do anything on the phone APP. for the company they work for. What kind of so called managers do the customers have to deal with these days. They are basically only managers just because they have the title of manager. Steak 'N' Shake corporate office does not even care that I got cheated out of my free milk shake. Hopefully a better business comes along and takes their place one day.."

"We moved away for about four years so it's been a while since we've been in a Steak and Shake. We were surprised that they no longer have table service; it's all kiosk orders now, but we didn't mind that. The problem was that the floor in front of all the kiosks was so sticky you could (honestly) hardly lift your feet. Everyone was walking around making a horrible sticky sound when they walked around. We had to take our shoes off before we went in our house so we could hose them down. It was terrible and I wonder where management was and how they allowed it to get to this point. The soft drink machine is on the other side of the restaurant! So... The food...good as I remember. We both had burgers and they haven't changed."

"First time back to steak and shake since it reopened. We will NOT be back. If you want a super super thin burger that they forget the lettuce, tomato and onion on (even though you ordered it on your burger), untoasted Frisco Melt and a butterfinger shake minus the butterfinger, then this is the spot for you! The little specks you see in the “butterfinger” shake are from the topping they put on the whip cream."
