"Flat and spacious site. It was a great deal for the area for about $15/night. Bring whatever you use for fly control tho! An easy walk to the falls, where my dog and I bore left and went on a lovely hike down to the water and found some flat, sunny rocks to hang out on! Great, cheap fun!"

"Tent camped July 4th weekend. Nice campground. Paved road and sites. Vault toilet was ok but not being cleaned regularly and was out of toilet paper for 2 days but we brought our own. Bugs were not bad. Definitely needed to use bug spray but seemed to keep them at bay for the most part. Hiking is mostly rugged with lots of stairs to a couple of the falls so be prepared. No camp host. Campground filled up every night but there were first come first serve sites available each day usually until late afternoon but I'm sure that is subject to change."

"Campground was very well kept, clean bathroom. Short drive to a lot of falls. If you can book campsite 18, do it!! It backs up to the lake."

"One of the best UP recreational areas that I have been to. Located along the Superior coast line with the Black River flowing through it. Numerous waterfalls, picnic areas and swimming beach. Pit toilets and running water at campsites. Most deffinatley will be back in the fall. As of August '20 the boat launch was still under construction."

"Picturesque deep hemlock forest campground, nestled upon a ridge overlooking Lake Superior. The campgrounds give you close proximity to the historic harbor and lakefront, the Black River and it's multiple scenic waterfalls and gorge, and access to the North Country Trail. It feels like an outdoor enthusiasts Paradise, but with way less visitors than Porcupine Mountains State Park, which is about 6 miles to the east of the Black River."
