Harry's Rentals

"I have been renting from these people for 4 years now and I’ve been reading a lot of these reviews as well. Their places a lot of them are old and clearly over time a home whether it be a house or trailer or even a small apartment are gonna have some issues. Anytime I have ever had something go wrong they have someone here immediately. First place I rented from them the fridge went out in the first couple weeks and the same day I called they went out and bought a brand new fridge. Some other repairs were required and they came right away to fix everything I’ve ever asked from them. Not saying other peoples experience with them is inaccurate but I definitely think there is more to every story. If you experiences were so bad and so illegal take them to court instead of bashing them on a google review lol."

"They aren't completely terrible but they took a long time to come out and do maintenance at times, and they kept the deposit based on some pretty stupid things. The house was already in pretty bad condition with a leaking roof and bats in the drop ceiling, but they made a fuss about blinds missing a couple bits. There are definitely better places to rent from around BR. They also had some oddly high fees before move in."

"Okay where do I start. First things first, they refuse to acknowledge their google reviews, according to julia, " harry's rentals isnt on google". this is obviously false. Upon move in, the unit was charged for first months rent, a down deposit equal to one months rent, and a cleaning fee which equaled more than 2 months rent which a rental legally cannot do. They charged us a pet fee for a registered service animal. Let that sink in, one roommate, who NEEDS this animal, was charged a pet fee, also illegal. The shower and fridge leaked all summer and fall. For the fridge we were told it was just because its hot, well when it got cold, the freezer was covered top to bottom in ice. The shower consistently leaked water for months before they fixed it, I told them it was leaky the first day we moved in, in july. Never once did they have maintenance alert us that they were going to visit, they need to give 24 hours notice. That is even stated in the housing contract. Oh and the cleaning fee charged, the house smelled like cat urine and marijuana smoke. The carpet was dirty, the walls had various food splatters in the kitchen. The kitchen sink was not even put together when we moved in? The faucet was in pieces, they knew when we were moving in. Not to mention the overwhelming amount of mold in the house, the basement is filled with it, furniture had to be thrown out. Windows and doors let drafts in, the house is old and has seen better days 50 years ago. As a whole, if youre looking for a place to live and you see a harry's rental open, you can find better places to live."

"I cant even describe the trouble that Harry's put me through. Harrys allowed a subleaser who was unemployed move in with me against my wishes. He sat home all day doing drugs and I asked him to stop doing them in the house and he wouldn't. I went to Julie with my concerns and she did nothing. In the end Julie told me I was responsible for the unemployed subleasers rent even though I didnt want him there to begin with. The house was never cleaned before I moved in. I was never given keys so my house had to stay unlocked which resulted in things being stolen. My fridge leaked and they never fixed it. The bathroom had mold in the shower due to crack that was never repaired. I paid to have it fixed out of pocket because the mold made me sick. I have had two previous landlords who will say I was a responsible tenant and they were very great trustworthy landlords. Harrys is very cheap rent but you get what you pay for. Please do not rent from here!!"

"If it was possible to give no stars I would... I don't even know where to begin... My experience renting through Harrys was awful!!! I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to rent through them. For starters my house didn't stay warm in the winter due to poor insulation on top of freezing all the time I had to pay 400-500 dollar heat bills all winter long. I called and asked if they would please come check it out...never came. My toilet leaked multiple times causing a high water bills, and maintenance would take at least a week to come fix it every time. Its clear that Harrys puts as little work as they possibly can into there rental homes. They might be cheaper than other rental places, but it's NOT worth it. Oh and if your renting with others make sure you keep track of all the bills because Harrys keeps nothing, and if one of your roommates doesn't pay you all will be taken to court...take it from someone who has been through it. Stay away from Harrys Rentals at all costs if you can."
