About the Business

Benjamin's Hope

Benjamin's Hope is a unique institution located at 15468 Riley Street in Holland, Michigan, United States. We are currently seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as direct care workers, known as Sidekicks. Full and part-time positions are available on three different shifts, with no experience necessary. Sidekicks provide care and support for adults with disabilities living at Benjamin's Hope, offering personal care and companionship to help residents live life to the fullest.

Belonging is at the heart of what we do at Benjamin's Hope, where people of differing abilities can live, learn, play, and worship with autonomy and connection. Our community of over 30 adults with intellectual and developmental differences, including autism, live in independent or semi-independent apartments within a welcoming farm-style setting.

Our NEXT program allows community members to participate in a growth-focused, lifelong learning program focused on whole-person development through activities like volunteerism, horticulture, physical fitness, spiritual growth, and social development. Play and friendship thrive in our natural environment, where visitors can interact with alpacas, explore sensory gardens, and enjoy the company of friends at Club Connect.

The Church of Benjamin's Hope offers a radically inclusive worship experience on Sundays at 6pm, welcoming people of all abilities to celebrate and connect in the accepting love of Jesus. We believe that all people are beautifully created and deserving of hope, and through our farmstead community, we strive to ensure those with intellectual and developmental differences thrive and connect with their greater community.

As a non-profit leader in innovative care models for adults affected by autism and developmental disabilities, Benjamin's Hope partners with public, private, and faith community resources to provide essential services such as housing and meaningful day programming. Our sustainable farming practices offer a common ground for growth, purpose, creativity, and connection for individuals of all abilities.

We welcome all individuals to join us at Benjamin's Hope for life enrichment, volunteering opportunities, and worship experiences. Your support and involvement help us continue to build an inclusive community where everyone can thrive and connect.

"We went to a church service at Benjamin's Hope - and it was so great. I loved the energy and the interaction. Pastor Eric was great with the sermon and inclusiveness. I loved the genuine emotion and feeling of it all. So celebratory and inclusive in fellowship."

"I was a Sidekick (caregiver) and Benjamin's Hope for almost two years and I enjoyed every minute of it. The heart the house staff and house leads have for their residents is beyond compare. They work to provide the best care possible on a day-to-day basis. They are a relatively young organization and are still growing. There are chances to learn, grow, and advance in your career. My co-workers were overall amazing. Nothing out of the ordinary happened there. I knew, even after the hardest day possible, that when I hit my pillow at night I loved my job and couldn't wait to go back the next day. If you choose to work at BH, be ready, the residents will change your life. They will stretch you, encourage you, challenge you, and make you laugh so hard you cry. If I could I would go back in a heart beat. If you're looking for a safe place for your loved one to call home, I'd highly recommend Benjamin's Hope."
